Where "Big Data" meets "Big Biology:" Diagnostics technology being developed by San Diego's Epic Sciences uses antiibodies that fluoresce in the presence of keratins to differentiate circulating tumor cells from millions of normal cells in a patient's blood sample. The company scans a slide to identify and characterize circulating tumor cells.
