A wonderful place, known for farm to table cooking. An incredible wine list. Patio is great for enjoying wine cheese and meat.

My wife and I have dined at most top rated restaurants in St. Louis. Five Bistro has something special going on. The atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. They explained the entire menu (which changes daily depending on what Chef Anthony has available at its freshest). We have never had an experience like this. The whole meal we had was delicious. We had the cheese platter, Rissi Farm potato gnocchi, Scallop and squash with shitake mushrooms, Caesar salad with the best croutons and the most flavorful egg I have ever had. (and some i my friends give me fresh free range chicken eggs regularly) The experience was second to none. We will be back again and again. Five Bistro gets Five stars no problem.

We were there for the late night menu. Hamburgers and fries were the highlights of that menu. I really liked everything about this place. Especially the focus on local ingredients.

Five Bistro (which used to be Five in the Grove) has recently moved to "The Hill" and have a beautiful new space to some of the best dishes in St Louis. The menu is always changing with the seasons which is great for those who like fresh, seasonal food. My last meal there started with a tuna tartare with poached egg, a salad with a big chunk of blue cheese and pickled beats, a perfectly cooked steak with cauliflower/potato puree and a chocolate dessert trio. Each came with wine pairings, and I loved them all. This is a great place for a romantic evening or cozy environment with friends.

Did not have reservation but they said they could take two. First time there. Wife and I waited '1-1/2 hrs' for them to roast a chicken, 'from scratch'. I presume they boiled it and then had to pluck it out back! It was still not completely cooked. I mentioned the problem to the Wife owner on the way out, after we paid at our table, and the husband owner came outside as we were walking to our car and called me an 'as_ h___ , I presume, as a result of complaining to his wife! This review is for all of you, and the owners, who call this a 'classy place'! Humbug!
