Diary,
6am, 081218. Clusters - a Solution for all those struggling to wake up and beat the cold in the morning.... It is some point very early in the morning, my alarm hasn’t rung yet, and my eye pops open. If I went to bed at about 1,15am and set my alarm for 6.30am, I calculate it is somewhere less than 5 hours. My brain suddenly starts contemplating if I should wake up, or let my body get more sleep. As soon as I found myself in the middle of this typical and frequent debate with myself, I told myself, hmm, the alarm hasn’t gone off yet, I’m sure there may be a good reason, anyway, I feel absolutely fine. At this point of debate, my eyes are still shut, I opened them once to put myself in a straight posture but it’s dark and doesn’t really count. Ok, if I find myself debating against something hard (which I have been for countless mornings now), today I should muscle up the courage and just get out of bed if I really want to practice this ’no alarm’ routine. Ok, but how do I make peace with this cold? I took a deep breath as I found myself snuggle up my feet around my duvet. There, the answer is right there. A deep breath I took again. That was the answer, BREATH. I found myself taking countless breaths, very consciously and slowly, and yes, I reiterate, ‘’SLOWLY’’. Next breath work was 3 round of 20 breaths of fire which they make us do in Yoga class often! Now, I felt like I could work my way round this cold now. Ok what next. I open my eyes, got up, with no hesitation, and grabbed my sock by my bed and wrapped them round my feet while I placed myself into my typical meditation posture, where I found myself getting back to my conscious breathing. This is exactly what I needed, a drive to wake up naturally, however, like many other mornings in the past, I still was worried about going back to bed after meditation. However, this time, I felt more engaged, as the other times, I often had an urge to go back to sleep where I was forcing out the meditation. I found a reason to Thank the universe for this awakening experience and started chanting ‘om’ a few times, again, out of routine, however this time, with much more engagement. About 8-10 times late, I pressed the tips of all my fingers one by one ‘ acupressure-ing’, also in the 'not only morning' routine, I love this, I do it often during the day. It’s apparently very healthy, I won’t do it justice by naming just a couple of it’s benefits, so look it up, I ain’t no google. Ok, I feel like I’m ready to rock and roll! Up I get, bring myself into the washroom, empty out my drain and wash my face with cold winter Barcelona water before my regular eye exercises. Meh, I will stop here. Getting there however, is the easy part.
Maintaining it is what is the real challenge, so.. See More
