Michael Seiden joined KOCO 5 News in June, 2011, as a general assignment reporter.
Before moving to Oklahoma, Seiden worked in Beaumont, Texas, as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor. While there, he covered a variety of assignments ranging from crime, politics, education and of course “Friday Night Lights.” One of his most memorable stories in Beaumont was on a local police department that couldn’t afford bulletproof vests for its officers. Seiden’s story inspired a viewer to pull out his own checkbook and buy vests for the entire police department.
Seiden is a proud graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Mass Communication and Journalism at Arizona State University. While at ASU, he spent three seasons with the NFL Arizona Cardinals, covering dozens of games and Super Bowl XLII and XLIII.
Originally from Marietta, Georgia, Seiden is thrilled to call Oklahoma home and enjoys being involved in our community. When he isn’t chasing storms, he enjoys playing and watching sports, trying new restaurants (I haven’t had a bad meal since I moved here he says) and meeting new people.
Seiden enjoys hearing from viewers and wants to hear from you! If you have a story idea or just want to say hello, you can contact him at email@example.com. You can also follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
