Oooh! Just in time for the American Library Association annual conference, 50 library cards from around the US -- and great library trivia, too! #librarylove #library #books
From the papyri scrolls of ancient Alexandria , to Benjamin Franklin’s Junto in Philadelphia, to the “bookless” library in San Antonio, to the very mobile Lower Ninth Ward Street ...

10 Bookish Song Parodies Better Than a Weird Al Album...
#books #libraries #bookstore
Reading a good book may be a quiet, personal journey, but these bookish parodies, with their original lyrics and dance moves, make us want sing – and laugh – out loud.   1. For International Give a Nun a Book Day (yes, there really is such a thing, September 17th), we brought copies of If Nuns Ruled the World by Jo Piazza to the lovely and welcoming Sisters of St. Anthony’s of Padua Convent here in Soho.

So great to share good books with those doing great work...

Sharing this becuase it is so so awesome: the online How to Be an Author Game from the +Los Angeles Times!
#booknerds #lit
Aspiring writers often ask established authors, "How did you do it?" The truth is that there is no single path to literary success. We sent a nonscientific survey to writers participating in the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books: Did they keep a diary as a child? Did they ever have a book rejected? Did they earn a living from writing? We tabulated more than 200 responses to make a board game. Roll a die and see where the writing life takes you.
