This is the weirdest sushi restaurant i have ever been to. The menu was small and confusing. I didnt even know how to order. The lady who was serving us was rude and just keeping telling us 65 dollar person. 65 dollar per person is too much! we just got up and left. not worth it.

Portion size is perfect, large enough pieces to really taste the flavor and texture. The fish here is certainly among the best quality available. Ike knows what hes doing and has the best resources in the area. I eat here a lot and its as fresh as can be every time. Ike did it right in Hollywood and his new location is a step up from that. This is hands down my favorite spot in SoCal for consistent top quality and a nice friendly environment.

Omakase for $60 or $80/person. The latter is the best. Excellent quality throughout. Not as creatively "fancy" as some other omakase and they don't have kaiseki or cooked entrees, but you can't go wrong with the quality of the fish and preparation, the abundancy for the $80 omakase, and the attentiveness to detail. One of the best in LA.

This is real sushi - excellent fresh fish prepared with a deft hand and impeccable service. Ike-san is a master chef - it is a joy to watch him carefully prepare the fish before he sets it before you! Be sure to make reservations - they don't seat walk-ins.

To fully enjoy Chef Ike’s (pronounced E-Kay) restaurant, sit at the bar and watch Chef Ike’s expert handling of fresh fish and balancing of texture, taste and flavor. Especially memorable were, the giant clam that was so fresh it was crunchy, fatty blue fin tuna that tasted like butter, poached eel that is remarkable, salmon with sear marks that tasted of BBQ and raw, the strange green leaf that gave the sushi a unique taste. A real sushi gem.

do omakase, a must. blue fin toro & blue fin maguro - (fave #1)
