It was a great morning for a bike ride! Reading Hospital hosted a free, community-wide bike ride this morning, at the Reading Hospital 7th Avenue parking lot at Scottish Rite Cathedral, Wyomissing.

The scenic six-mile Bike-to-Work Week Ride, sponsored by Tower Health, Commuter Services of Pennsylvania, and the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance, began at 7 a.m. began and ended at the Scottish Rite Cathedral parking lot and took riders through West Reading, the city of Reading, and along the Schuylkill River Trail.

Today we celebrate National Trauma Survivors Day, a day to draw inspiration from and provide support to survivors of traumatic injuries and their caregivers, opening the road to their recovery from trauma.

Are you a survivor or know one? Celebrate today by:

-Making a sign and writing a phrase, such as “I am a survivor!” or “I love a survivor”
- Taking a picture holding the sign
- Upload the picture to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags #TraumaSurvivorsDay #NTSD #ReadingTrauma #ReadingRehab
- Tag your survivor, support system or family members

May is Stroke Awareness Month. Reading Hospital Stroke Center thanks our EMS partners for their rapid response to those in our community experiencing acute stroke symptoms and for trusting the experts at our accredited Advanced Primary Stroke Center to give those patients rapid evaluation and treatment for the greatest chance for recovery.
