“Citizens may resist unlawful arrest to the point of taking an arresting officer's life if necessary.” Plummer v. State, 136 Ind. 306. This premise was upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in the case: John Bad Elk v. U.S., 177 U.S. 529. The Court stated: “Where the officer is killed in the course of the disorder which naturally accompanies an attempted arrest that is resisted, the law looks with very different eyes upon the transaction, when the officer had the right to make the arrest, from what it does if the officer had no right. What may be murder in the first case might be nothing more than manslaughter in the other, or the facts might show that no offense had been committed.”

“An arrest made with a defective warrant, or one issued without affidavit, or one that fails to allege a crime is within jurisdiction, and one who is being arrested, may resist arrest and break away. lf the arresting officer is killed by one who is so resisting, the killing will be no more than an involuntary manslaughter.” Housh v. People, 75 111. 491; reaffirmed and quoted in State v. Leach, 7 Conn. 452; State v. Gleason, 32 Kan. 245; Ballard v. State, 43 Ohio 349; State v Rousseau, 241 P. 2d 447; State v. Spaulding, 34 Minn. 3621.

If a police officer knocks on someone's door and they answer it, it is legally viewed as the resident's consent to make contact; however, unless the situation particularly demands it the cops are not allowed to step inside – according to Tuscaloosa Police Chief Steve Anderson.

"One final note: consider the ferryboat shown at the top of this post. It’s from Blue Star Ferries, a commercial Greek line that plies the Aegean islands, mostly catering to the tourist trade.

But those aren’t tourists queuing up on the quay waiting to climb on board. And they’re not paying any fare.

But running those ferries from Kos and Lesbos to Piraeus every day is a very expensive operation. And someone is paying for it.

Just as someone is paying for all those buses queued up on the border between Macedonia and Serbia. And for all the trains carrying refugees across Austria and Germany. And for all those gigantic heated tents set up at the reception centers in various countries.

Someone is paying for it all, but who?"

Now THAT is the REAL question.

Cops and their supporters bitch and whine when people call for killing cops, yet it is the ones who refuse to hold cops accountable that are responsible for getting cops killed.  If cops were held accountable for criminal actions like this murder, there would be FAR fewer calls to kill cops.  People will not be denied justice forever, and if the system refuses to provide it, then eventually people will start to seek justice outside the system.  It is simple human nature.

These thrill-killers are so trigger-happy that they shoot their own.

So do you REALLY want people like these cops prowling your streets while armed?

Christians complaining about people "stealing" Christmas would do well to remember that Christians stole the holiday from pagans, and that Winter Solstice celebrations predate Christianity by thousands of years.

The Winter Solstice belongs to all people of the Earth's Northern Hemisphere, equally. And if Christians can not find it in their heart to share the holiday, then they are, in fact, as mean-spirited, hypocritical, hateful, and prejudiced as others make them out to be.

One of the most important pieces you will read this year . . .

http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-1101-hanson-rural-urban-divide-20151101-story.html
Of all the growing divides in America, none is sharper than that between city and country. For rural residents, existential issues on the national level are seen as magnified versions of personal considerations: Does the country have enough food, fuel and minerals? Can America defend itself, protect its friends and punish its enemies? These concerns differ markedly from the urbanite's worry about whether the government will provide services to ta...

This is how the Roman Republic became the Roman Empire.
Same for America.

The actual problem is the failure of law.  The Constitution is supposed to be the SUPREME law.  If the government remained constrained to its constitutionally enumerated powers, special interests would hold no sway.  In fact, the government would have so little influence in our daily lives, it would hardly even matter who was elected.
