+stephen g The good old classic 'I could make something nice of it'. Sure that's right. But you can make the exact same things with other metals for just a fraction of the price.
So the fact that you can make something nice of it doesn't explain the value of silver.
The value of something is the willingness of others to pay for it. Gold, silver, platinum, ... are special metals. People want shiny things. That is where the real value of gold/silver lies.
Bitcoin is, so far, the best way for doing online transactions in the long term. One can argue about the low fees as an advantage and the volatility as a disadvantage. But the main feature of bitcoins is that it is so easy to use. You don't need the creditcard/PayPal/wire transfer bullshit. People are willing to pay for that. You also may not forget the relative anonymity. Look for example at the iPhone/iMac/MacBook. People are even willing to pay 50% more for things that work out of the box.
If you want to make payments with bitcoin, you have to hold them for a while. The more transactions that are made with bitcoin, the more people will hold bitcoins. That is where the real value of a bitcoin lies. The ability to replace all online payments.

There are 44 million of Americans who do not have resources to have a medical insurance. Obiously, they can not have one.

Rich people choose where to spend their money. ok, and what about the money of the citizens which the government has to manage?. The owner of this money are all the americans, not only rich people. It is a democracy.

Probably, the government is spending a lot of money on other things under its own decision. What kind of protection has  been chosen by americans?, health?, defense?, spying?.

It is really disheartening to see our country in the shape it is. It seems like Rand and Ron Paul are the only real Americans in Washington!
