Tim Keller. John Piper. Ray Stedman. Rick Warren. Warren Wiersbe. J. Sidlow Baxter. Max Lucado. Chuck Swindoll. John Owen. FF Bruce. John Stott. All of these guys have been in my office this morning, helping me understand Jesus' suffering on the cross and His resurrection and my own spiritual rebirth. Along with them are Luke, John, Peter, and Paul. Keep reading to be taught by history's greatest minds.

Keep writing so that others may benefit from your experience. I love being the Pastor of a new church plant that meets in a movie theater. That's kinda cool. But I also love that the truth I get to teach in that theater is ancient, solid, and informed by thousands of years of scholars with skin in the game. I've never felt more convinced that Jesus is worthy of my trust. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness.

Christian, the next time sin flirts with you, lift up a hand and declare: "Don't bother. I'm dead to you!"

The gospel did okay before Facebook, and will do just fine without it. But plenty of churches and organizations like mine have found Facebook to be an incr

Some good points here .. I think you nailed it when you spoke to how you can't expect a free website to provide your organization with unlimited advertising. Lots of arguments both ways of course, but Facebook is ultimately out to make money, and your investment of time and content there only helps further their goal. You're right that it's still a smart location for churches given the amount of time people spend there, but absolutely the right mindset to view it as a tool to promote your own content strategy. Use Facebook to help build up and support your church community and online presence, but don't allow Facebook to become your community because ultimately you'll need to pay to keep it.

+Grace Hills Church is growing. Fast right now. I'm glad of that - I LOVE meeting new people, seeing growth, and hearing the stories of life change. But as a Pastor, there's that slightly scary feeling of wanting to control things. Read about why I'm resisting the urge to do so...

God gave us mouths that close, and ears that don't. What does that tell us?
"Let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry."  James 1:19   If you do the first two, the third is automatic.

Vision isn't the ability to predict the future but seeing opportunities in your current circumstances. "Forget the former things, and do not dwell on the past. LOOK! I am creating a brand new thing! It is springing up right in front of you. Do you not perceive it?" Isaiah 43:18-19
God is always doing new things. We just aren't watching.

I love this place. In fact, I often tell people I have an office there because I set up so many meetings. Their carmenilla is to die for!
