I have received multiple services at Innovations for the past 7 years, and have always been satisfied with the services. The atmosphere is definitely classy and everyone is professional and customer service oriented. Whether I am getting a massage or a highlight and cut, I always leave feeling pampered and rejuvenated. My stylist is amazing and totally understands what I want :) The receptionist are friendly and helpful, always. Regardless of the type of appointment I have scheduled, staff are amazing. I have been to many salons through the years, have been made to feel uncomfortable and judged, have had many terrible experiences and now finally, I've found the perfect place.

I booked a couples massage for my boyfriend and I. When we entered the spa there were multiple employees standing around the front desk where you check in. One was actually rubbing another girls back. As I walked up to the front desk they all kind of scattered. I checked in and we had no wait. They took us right up to the room where we would have our massage. The girls that did our massage's were very nice and personable, but I felt dressed slightly unprofessional. I have to say the massage itself was amazing. The downfall was we could hear full conversations taking place in the hall. Apparently it was someone's birthday. Additionally the girl that gave my massage had very long hair. She didn't pull it up and throughout the entire massage it was touching my skin. After the massage they greeted us with water and escorted us out. I had to use the restroom downstairs, where again it was surrounded by multiple employees who continued to stand there and sit on folding chairs just outside the bathroom. I went to check out and was give the total of $170. I asked if I could add the tip to my card (was paying with debit card). The girl at the front desk told me no and said we take cash or check only. She then stated their ATM was down, but I could go to Fast Track next door and use their ATM. I was MORTIFIED! I couldn't believe they failed to mention they took cash only. Luckily I had my checkbook... I had to write two different checks to tip each girl and also use my debit card for the cost of the massage. She then stated their machine was down so she had me sign a yellow sticky note as authorization of my signature. (I wish I was making this up) I would give this one star, but I will say the massage itself was very good. It's a shame the establishment is so unprofessional.

I have gone three times now for massages, twice by myself and once with a bridal party. Each time the service was phenomenal and the staff was really friendly and accommodating. I just finished a long weekend trip and am now in desperate need of a massage, my only disappointment is that they're not open on Sundays to help me right now.

I have given this salon many chances (it's a big salon and there are many employees) and I have been dissatisfied each time. One hairstylist in particular rushed me in and out in under 20 minutes. I have really long hair and she washed it, cut it, and barely dried it. I walked out spending a lot of money for the fast shuffle and a wet head. I gave it another chance a year later (maybe she was just having a bad day) and got highlights. Same thing happened only this time she did the foils improperly and I walked out of the salon with a quarter inch of hair from my scalp with no highlights. It looked like I had gotten them months ago and my natural color already started growing back. Then I got a gift of a manicure and pedicure. I went with a friend who had the same services as I did. I was done 10 to 15 minutes before my friend. It seems my pedicurist went really fast and skipped steps so she could play on her Ipad. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I went here for a facial recently. The service itself was okay but this place was literally a ZOO. I'm not sure if it's just because it was a Saturday but it seemed like there was barely room to walk around with so many employees and clients everywhere. Not the ideal atmosphere for receiving a relaxing service.

I got a living social deal from my boyfriend to get mani, pedi , hair cut, shampoo, color and makeup tutorial for a low price. The salon itself is very nice, and professional. Sam (my stylist) was very nice and paid attention to me and what I wanted..but....I think it was very lack luster. My mani/pedi was great but I could tell she was very simply trained and lacked any interest in doing it.The makeup tutorial was very, very bad. I walked out looking like a raccoon. I could have said I did not like it, but instead I simply wiped it off when I got to my car. Besides looking bad, I was forced to smell cigarettes on her breath the entire session. My hair color turned out beautiful but the cut was just okay. Besides being slightly darker, it looked the same as when I went in. Granted I said I wanted a trim, she still could have added more shape or body. If I were to recommend someone, I would recommend them for the mani/pedi but a haircut I would go to Industry located in Armory Square... overall the experience was good, not great......

My curly hair has been a blessing and a curse, so when I learned that there was a hair cut called Ouidad, geared specifically for my hair type, I was thrilled. After finding Innovations on-line, I made an appointment and, though the salon is an hour from my home, it was well worth the trip. Melissa worked with me. She explained a number of things about the care and styling of curly hair that I did not know and also told me that I did not need the Ouidad haircut. Her honesty in recommending I forgo the Ouidad cut was MUCH appreciated. Instead, Melissa gave me a trim, a styling lesson and explained the Ouidad product line. My hair looked beautiful when I left. This morning I was able to replicate the style with no problem...that has never happed before. Everyone from the Receptionist to the Nail Tech - who noticed I let my shopping bag in the Ladies Room and ran after me to return it - were absolutely wonderful and friendly. No gossiping, cell phone usage, etc. Melissa concentrated on me during the entire appointment. I will be going back in spite of the distance because I was so happy with the result.
