Just picked up my lunch at the Grand Traverse Pie Company on Front Street. I ordered quiche and a slice of pie to go. When my name was called at the food counter, I was handed a very small bag. I opened the bag and in a small plastic container was my quiche with a slice of banana bread on top in the container. Both the banana bread and quiche were completely flattened. When I asked about the missing slice of pie I was told to go to the pie counter. Why couldn't I receive everything in one bag, packed properly at one place? This use to be a favorite place for lunch, but after the last couple of experiences I'll think I'll go elsewhere.

I was so disappointed. After telling me Fl friends about the wonderful pies, I ordered the cherry crumb for a friend for a gift. It cost as much for shipping as the pie but I did it anyway. It came to hot Fl in a poorly packed box. It was just sitting inside the shipping box with the other box below it. No food company ever sends anything not in dry ice or insulation of some sort. I was there when the pie came. It was soggy and not very attractive. Although the cherries were good, the crust and topping were a disaster. Shame on them.

Had a pasty. It was poorly wrapped, burnt, and hardly warm. Service was ok nothing to speak of. Very disappointed for the price and portion size.

I had a pie sent to my father in Utah for his birthday - making it especially special since he had picked cherries in Traverse City when he was young. I paid an exorbitant amount of money to have it delivered next day and the pie company gave it to Fed Ex too late and it spent the weekend in their warehouse. I received the pie three days later - in a box that was dripping wet with cherry juice. Needless to say there was no juice left in the pie and it was nothing but dry cherries with the thickest crust I have EVER seen on a pie. The packaging was a joke with bubble wrap around the pie box - no nice Styrofoam or extra packing to keep it from being tossed around in the box. Don't waste your money - go to a local bakery where you know the pie will be fresh and delicious.

The Strawberry Fields Salad is delicious. Don't miss the tomato soup either. One of my favorite lunch spots.

Haven't tasted the pies but the sandwiches are terrible. The toasted bread seems to be swimming in this burned butter flavor (greasy) and the coleslaw was runny and super, super sweet. It was inedible at best. The staff were nice enough to re-make my sandwich and again, the toasted bread was the same and they must've spilled sugar in the mayo. I tasted my daughter's breakfast sandwich, and her toasted bread had the same greasy flavor. We ended up throwing the food away. I wouldn't bother going there again. Truly disappointed.
