I have previously stayed at the hotel. My family and I have always enjoyed it. The staff is warm and considerate and the amenities are very favorable - if pricey - but everything in the Hawaiian Islands is pricey. Compared to most, the hotel is most reasonable. The room we stayed in this time seemed to have undergone some upgrading renovation. We were very happy with it. We were disappointed by the "wall" which now cuts off the beach from view and the sad disappearance of all the restaurants and coffee joints at the Coconut Market as it is being apparently renovated. It was nice to walk over there and eat but there is only one restaurant now. However, neither of these things can be attributed to Plantation Hale. It's a great place and we look forward to spending time there in the future.

Aloha, Thank you for posting your review and giving us a 5 star rating. I was glad to see you enjoyed the staff and the rooms here at Plantation Hale Suites. Yes, they are almost complete with the upgrades they are doing at the Market Place. When it is totally complete, there will be a lot more shops in there than before. We too are excited for it to be completed. Thanks again for the review, look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Kauai. Mahalo, Eric N.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were perfect a great kitchen with full size stove and Fridge/Freezer. Washer and dryer downstairs at a reasonable price (the front desk have detergent too). The beds and bedding were very comfortable plenty of towels and extra towels for the pools and hot tubs. A great location for anywhere you need to get to. We will definitely be returning!

The hotel is in a great location, close to beaches, shopping and it is not far from the airport. The hotel grounds are well maintained and the apartments are in very good condition. The kitchen is equipped with everything you may need. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

We were excited to arrive in Kauai for the last leg of our island trips; however, came to a upsetting outcome when we arrived at Plantation Suites in Kauai. We arrived early requesting an early check-in, if possible, and were advised that we would be contacted when our room was ready. We returned at 3:00 p.m. given we had heard nothing (not that it was expected given we arrived early) and were advised that our room was still not ready and may be another 30 minutes. 1 hour 36 minutes later our room was ready. This put a damper in our holiday as we are on vacation and did not want to lose any of our vacations day sitting waiting for our room. When we were advised that our room (which is not the initial room that was allocated and paid for at the time of check in), we were given a room right beside the laundry room which we were concerned about with the noise. When we arrived in our "cleaned" and readied room, the room we entered into was disgusting. The fridge had a layer of "gunk" with dust and crumbs on the top, the mirror in the living room was smeared with handprints and looked like liquid was poured down it, all the furniture was dusty and dirty, the bowel around the toilet was disgustingly dirt like it had never been cleaned before, the tub was all cracked and looked like mold was growing in the cracks, the floors were disgustingly dirty like they had never been washed or cleaned. The lamp shades and pictures were all full with dust. We were scared to stay in the room, let alone sleep in it. We didn't even unpack our clothes for the six days we were there because we were scared to put out clothes in the dirty cupboards and drawers. One of the double beds was like sleeping in a donut because of the sunken hole in the middle. The safe didn't even have a lock on it and we had to request that this be put in so we could safely store our valuables. The light in the laundry room was even working and had to also have maintenance have this fixed. We quickly (and gladly) left the room to get groceries and ensured that we bought disinfectant wipes and wiped down to the whole room before even considering sleeping under the covers! Slept on top of the bedding the first night. I would never recommend this accomodation to anyone and they should update their rooms, renovate them in full and gut the whole thing and start over again! Will never stay here again!!

Aloha, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Sincerely, Eric N.

We will recommend this hotel and in fact we already have. It was awesome! We have a family of 6 and fit perfectly in the space provided. We loved the lanai and the full size kitchen. The hotel is slightly dated but the price is too perfect to pass up. Speaking of price we were skeptical as to what it would be like but we were pleasantly surprised! The staff was fabulous as well. My daughter lost her snorkel set at the pool the first day and the staff never tired of her asking if someone turned it in. We borrowed a movie every night and again the staff never got annoyed with us. We were also able to borrow beach chairs, umbrella, and boogie boards from the hotel! We played in the pools, relaxed in the hot tubs and played shuffle board. We used the laundry facilities (which were cheap to use!), ate at the nearby restaurants and shopped at the close by grocery stores. There is absolutely nothing negative to write about this hotel! Thank you for offering a place for families to stay that is not only affordable but very comfortable and cozy with all the necessities to make a meal, relax and be able to enjoy Kauai!

A great vacation value! The Plantation Hale isn't too fancy, but the suites are comfortable, spacious and clean, with bedroom, living/dining room, kitchen, and lanai. A selection of books like bird guides, flower guides, and fish guides were a nice touch! Best-equipped kitchen I've ever seen in a hotel suite - plenty of cookware, utensils, mixing and serving dishes for real cooking. Close to the shore for sunrise strolls just a few minutes' walk away. The location on the east coast is nice and centralized if you want to check out both the north and south sides of the island. So glad we stayed here!

Great suites! Really clean and "new" feeling. But this is more of a motel feel, no bar/restaurant and not much in the way of a view. About a 10 min walk to the beach.

Spacious rooms and nice amenities, but older and needs some serious maintenance. Example: our bathtub had a patched bottom that felt like it was going to give way and the shower faucet was so loose it was difficult to control the water flow and temp. Still a good value for the price and the pools were very nice.
