Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma
Medullary thyroid carcinoma is rare. It is accounts for about 5% of all thyroid cancers. Medullary thyroid carcinoma occurs in sporadic or hereditary (25% of cases) forms, as part of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN 2) syndromes or as the Familial Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (FMTC) syndrome.
