Two Unlocked Ears for Seniors

Why do we have to listen to our elders? Simply because they rock more on what we knew and experienced. As potential repertoires of wisdom or sages of society, here are why we should lend our ears and hearts to their advice:

1. Their advice promotes well-being and survival for ages.

2. America’s baby boomers are born in a unique and extraordinary generation.

3. They offer perspectives that shake conventional wisdom.

Our attentive carers will offer their ears, hands, and hearts to serve your beloved elders.

Can You Hear the People Sing? - Les Misérables

Do you find yourself turning the volume of TV or radio higher than usual? You might find it difficult to hear in noisy areas since sound or speech muffles in your ears. Hearing loss may have age-related cause. It starts with not being able to hear high-pitched sounds such as from women or children.

Don’t let this rob the joy in conversing with people when you can have hearing aids or assistive devices, such as telephone amplifiers. You can also ask for our assistance.

Granny Stories

“I'm one of these children who grew up at the knee of my grandmother and her elder sister, listening to very old people talk about their memories.”
- Hilary Mantel

The internet has somehow replaced mommy’s bedtime stories and granny’s exciting talk of history.

When was the last time your beloved elders got the chance to talk about their past victories and failures?

Spend time listening to their stories and you’ll be amazed at how cool they were.

They deserve expert carers after all the hardships they’ve been through.

False Alarm Confrontation: Signs Your Forgetfulness Isn’t Alzheimer’s

Perhaps you’ve been worried about your mental state lately because you seem to forget a lot. Some things actually cause brain fog affecting your focus and memory, such as the following:

New medication
Benadryl, barbiturates, antihistamines, and tranquilizers may cause mild cognitive impairment.

Sleep deprivation
Lack of sleep decreases awareness and causes transient memory loss.

Stress and depression
Worries can fill your mind and wash out important things.

No one notices
Your friends and family haven’t noticed your brain lapse.

See, it’s not as serious as you think!

Modern Zombie: Dementia

Plants Vs. Zombies taught us that zombies eat brains and that you can only stand against them through plants that fight and defend your territory. Dementia works like that - they eat brains, internally. Well, plant the right habit and fight it off through:

1. Being physically active
30 minutes of walking a day won’t hurt.
2. Eating healthily
Junk foods stand for its name. Opt for fruits as snacks instead.
3. Not smoking and drinking alcohol
Let awareness to their killing elements kill your attempts to grab a cigarette stick and a glass of liquor.

Enjoy playing the game of life!
