I absolutely love this place. First discovered it 2 years ago. We got stranded in Willamsburg when a huge snow storm took place. We took shelter at the Counting Room and kept coming back since. I wouldnt recommend for big groups - 6 max. Server, bartenders, and even the cook are really awesome. The drink menus changed a bit. I usually go for anything that has mezcal or tequila. Red October and Salt&Ash are good but really strong. Tried my friend's RareSqueeze which was also good and sweeter than my drinks. You have got to get these: Olive Bowl, Warm Bag of Croutons (eat them while they're hot bc then they get really hard - we ate them regardless), Italian sausage pressed sandwhich, and a Cheese and Chacutrie platter with manchego, chorizo, and cooked prosciutto.

One of my favorite bars in Williamsburg. We had a birthday event for a friend in the downstairs room and it was such a blast. Love the ambiance of the place (reminds me of an old stylish speakeasy), the bartenders were super friendly and served a great selection of drinks. The DJ was spot-on, too.

I've only been here once but it won't be my last trip. The basement level is the perfect place to throw a party. The main level is also outfitted nicely for a large group or your standard friday/saturday night crowds of hipsters. It sits on a great corner lot with a cool view of the streets from the main level. They have multiple bars so you shouldn't have to wait long for a bevy. The picnic table seating is a nice touch too. However, when it gets too "hip" just slink next door for whisky by the barrel.

The Counting Room has lots of wooden benches and ample barstool seating lined up along the walls. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. A+ for remaking a drink that tasted a bit off, no questions asked. The atmosphere is nice, candles for extra warmth, and the people are nice. The only downside is one bathroom.

Hello Tiffany, So happy you enjoyed our space. One tip, there are 3 other bathrooms located in the cellar bar. If the cellar is not open don't worry just ask and the waitress will show you where they are. Come again! The Counting Room

This is a fantastic place, whether your are there for drinks or for a gathering We had a party last night and had the whole doewnstairs. There were about 45-50 people who attended and the place did not seem crowded one bit. The bartenders were great The GM, Matt, was very attentive to our needs, as were the owners. The wine was great and I heard from the guests that the beer was great also. Finger food was perfect for the occasion. I would not hesitate to reach out to them or another event. Great people!! THANK YOU!

Beautiful, spacious bar that looks like a chic cabin was converted into a lounge. The downstairs area offers a comfortable layout, with narrow ledges offering ample surface area for food/beverages and a nook with leather seating. I didn't get a chance to try any of the food or craft cocktails, but would happily go back and do so.

Two beautiful bar areas. There's a relaxed, wood paneled upstairs area and then another relaxing bar downstairs with slightly darker (due to lovely old-style bulbs) ambiance. Different booths and areas downstairs to enjoy as you choose from their wide range of liquors and beers, such as Mother's Milk.
