Advanced Medical Microdermabrasion

This treatment uses a diamond tip exfoliating wand with suction. The wand is stoked across the skin to help remove dead surface skin cells. The result is a milder exfoliation. The skin may be slightly pink afterward, and will feel soft and smooth. At iBeauty Clinic this treatment is used for all skin type, or for a treatment with no down time.

Fine lines, acne scarring, skin texture, and hyperpigmentation are visibly improved. A series of treatments brings the best results.

Recovery: The skin looks slightly pink and may be tender for a few hours.

A few days post treatment the skin may show flaking as the new cells surface. Sun Protection SPF 30 is advised.

The stem cells in beauty products are obtained primarily from plants and fruits that can stay fresh for a long time, like Swiss apples, edelweiss, roses, and date palms. Extracts of these stem cells—not the live cells themselves—are added to skin-care products. If a product is labeled as a stem-cell cream or serum, you may see some of the stem cell’s key substances, such as ferulic acid, ellagic acid, and quercetin, listed on the ingredient panel.

They are found throughout our bodies, where they can play an essential role in tissue renewal. For healthy skin, these stem cells make up about 10% of the basal layer (lowest layer) of the epidermis. Stem cells just below the surface of the skin can help with restorative functions, such as cellular regeneration, and may ultimately enhance the capacity to repair aging skin. The real beauty of stem cells, however, is that they have the amazing ability to develop into many different types of cells. Where skin care is concerned, the theory is that by applying a product that contains stem-cell extracts derived from plants or fruits, you may encourage the growth of your skin’s own stem cells and possibly trigger their anti-aging effects. When a company says that its product contains stem cells, what it really means is that the product contains the growth factors and signaling molecules that have been extracted from the stem cells. Not the whole stem cells themselves. The messaging molecules that are harvested from stem cells provides antioxidant protection, protects skin from photo damage by absorbing UV radiation, protect skin from other types of oxidative damage, provide stimulation to epidermal stem cells, and increases the longevity of skin cells.

Photo Facial (IPL) Vs LED light therapy

Know the difference between IPL and LED? Most people don’t, and even professionals think they’re the same. They’re actually different, in terms of what they can do to your skin and their associated risks.Light devices are very confusing. I think that’s partly because they appear to do more or less the same thing, if you believe all the marketing claims! And perhaps it’s because light physics isn’t an easy subject to grasp.

Photo facial is a term for a skin treatment that uses some kind of light-based technology, primarily for boosting collagen, treating brown spots, rosecea and diminishing broken capillaries. Other names for photofacials are foto facials, facial rejuvenation and photo rejuvenation. Usually, a photofacial means an IPL (intense-pulsed light) treatment. Some spas that have LED (light-emitting diode) equipment. It is usually called light therapy, and LED facial, or LED treatment, but it is sometimes called a photo facial.
However, IPL and LED are completely different, so it's extremely important to understand which photo facial technology is being used. That way you are more likely to get the results you hope to achieve.

An IPL photofacial can treat a variety of skin conditions such as brown spots, broken capillaries, spider veins, and facial redness. An IPL photofacial delivers a bright blast of light at very high energy levels through a hand-held device. While some IPLs have cooling devices, it can be uncomfortable, even painful. An IPL photo facial is a good choice if you have a number of different goals: plumper, younger-looking skin, faded brown spots, fewer broken capillaries and less overall redness, called diffused facial redness. The number of IPL photo facials you need will vary depending on the condition you're treating, the results you want, and how your skin responds. Photo facials work best in conjunction with a regular skin care routine that you develop with your esthetician.

The abbreviation “LED” stands for “Light Emitting Diode”. An LED photofacial, unlike IPL, is completely painless and quite comfortable. In fact, a lot of people find it to be very relaxing. An LED photo facial is a very gentle treatment that uses narrow spectrum light to boost collagen, which creates plumper, younger-looking skin, or to kill the bacteria that causes acne. LED photo facials are painless, cool and relaxing, and (unlike laser treatments) carry no risk of burning. The best results come after a series of treatments. To begin, a series of six treatments with a one-to two weeks between is recommended. After that, maintain with a treatment every month or two. It can be part of a facial or a stand-alone treatment.LED photo facials are a good choice for people who want to boost collagen or treat acne. Their collagen-boosting, facial rejuvenation properties have been proven with medical research. The results won’t be as dramatic as plastic surgery, but it’s a gentler, more natural, less expensive way to go. Think of an LED treatment as more of a maintenance treatment or as one small piece in a bigger puzzle.

There are certain treatment details you should know regarding photofacials. For starters, treatment time is quite fast. In just 30 minutes, the treatment session will probably be over. As discussed previously though, you’ll need to have repeated treatments in the future for continued results.

Some quick facts about photofacials include:

• IPL photofacials can cause redness and discomfort
• LED treatments have no known side effects
• IPL treatments can generally treat a larger skin area compared with LED treatments
As with any major health decision, you’ll need to weigh the good points against the bad before you decide which treatment (if any) is the best for you. You’ll also need to consider your budget and whether you have the finances available to get repeated skin care treatments.

For those who have both the time and the money to invest, photofacial treatments can be very effective. That’s especially true if you have surface skin problems that don’t run too deep. Age spots, for example, can often be treated by removing the top layers of skin with these types of treatment options.
