Must have hit them on a bad night, we were the second occupied table there at first, seemed to have only one server. The second bad sign was that it was hot as hades in there, need to turn the air down sooner, the evening sun coming through all those windows was brutal. Two people ordered snapper, I ordered Caribbean jerk spiced pork steak, one ordered a steak. The best thing we had was the appetizer. My pork "steak" was tough and hard to cut, but tasted OK, even though not very "jerk" tasting; the two snapper orders had raw spots in the middle; the beef was the only thing with no complaintse side dishes were good, but one badly needed salt and when I add salt you can be sure it has none... Then we ordered deserts...just suffice it to say that it went downhill from there. Our server was mortified, he had done his job, and done it well, we asked for the manager (who also seems to be the bartender) who when we talked to her said she would go talk to the manager. We never saw either the owner or the chef, finally did get the two dishes removed from our tab as well as all four deserts. I may give them another chance, but it will be a while...

Great little family owned authentic french restaurant! The owners are chefs from Paris and so friendly and welcoming. They really take the time to make sure their customers are completely happy and you can tell they're very passionate about what they do. The new drinks are great, they have a great new happy hour with great drink specials. The food is always outstanding and very reasonably priced. Great newer staff, great service. I live way on the other side of Birmingham, and it's a bit of a drive but well worth it every time. They never disappoint. My husband's and my favorite restaurant! Not enough people know about it so I would highly recommend you going and trying it if you've never been, you'll love it and if you have been, continue to keep going back b/c this a a great place owned and run by great people! I give everything there, all around a 10! :) Take my word, my advice to try it out and enjoy! Once you try it, you'll keep coming back for more!

Cafe de Paris is a great restaurant! The food is always consistently good. They have the best crab cakes I've ever had! Everything is very reasonably priced and they give you a lot of food for your money, you'll never leave there hungry. The grit fritter appetizer is very good! My favorite desert is the truffle cake. They have a really great brunch too. Example, chicken and waffles, real french toast, french omelets, french crepes, real french eggs benedict, $2 mimosas, $3 house made sangria, $4 bloody marys. They have a great happy hour too. Lots of low priced drink specials and bar menu. It is my favorite restaurant in Birmingham. The owners and bartender/manager are really nice too. You should definitely try it!

Went here for brunch. Made a reservation. They lost it, the manager asked if a man took the reservation. I said yes and she rolled her eyes- I don't need business politics BEFORE I even sit down. Was seated immediately anyway. 20 minutes later drink orders. 30 minutes after that food orders. An hour after that I got up and went to the bar to refill our drinks myself. I waited 3 hours for food! My crepes were delicious, my husbands french toast was just okay. The prices were fair but the service was AWFUL. 2 hours into our visit, I spoke with the manager and complained. but all she did was say that everyone was waiting because they were so busy. I tried to encourage my party to leave at that point, but they were at that point unwilling to leave. So for 3 hours I ate water and dry bread.

The food is delicious. Very hot and freshly made. The waitress was able to explain the dishes and made excellent suggestions as to what we should get. I especially loved the grit fritters as an appetizer. They were great. Hot and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. i would reccommend this restuarant to anyone wanting good food. A special treat was meeting the chef. He came out and greeted people. That showed personality and style.

I have worked 3 times for these jackasses and they are animals:very unprofessional in thousands of ways, very unclean, they loose guest yelling at 1 particular table on how can chicken be overcooked the other 20 tables all leave w/ no desire to come back if they are so aggressive. They have a couple employees who are desperate enough to be treated like garbage. The turnover is amazing.I have watched dozens of employees go 1 day some 2 or 3 but the truth always surfaces THEY ARE ANIMALS.Yes u will wait 1 hour plus for your entree.Do not try to leave they will chase u to 2 blocks away swearing they are calling the cops and you will pay for the meal you wanted hours ago.If you are not happy with your meal you get nothing else and will have to pay for what they burned. There is 2 FAKE FRENCH cousins from Guadalope cooking for sometimes 100 guest and 2 or 3 servers,1 being also the bartender. They will make mistakes but you are expected to pay for their mistake.UNREAL

Response from the owner - 2 years ago
I being a repeat offender customer of Cafe De Paris have a hard time believing the above comments. First of all the fact that you were employeed there three times say these guys care about people. Secondly, everytime I visit the French Cuisine it's always clean. Thirdly, these chefs are from Paris, France but it's evident you wouldn't know that. I have a hard time with employees who get mad once they are laid off or fired and blast the company. The sad part is people don't realize these post follow them and being a small business owner myself, all I can say thanks Dustin I will never employ you. A word to the wise, the correct spelling is Guadeloupe. I always visit places for myself before judgement is determined. I will be back to visit the Cafe soon.

Worst waiters ever. Rude and low service. Food is good but it is super slow. You can wait for our. AC to high, is cold and place is poor decor. The worst is the service.
