Okay, we are getting close to go time. I am about two weeks from departure and I have only had 7 people make donations. The trip will go on but, unfortunately, if I don't receive donations, I will not be able to share many blankets, food, and clothing to those who need them. I will be meeting these people at Christmas time and would love to fulfill their immediate needs both physical and spiritual. I plan to utilize places like Salvation Army and Goodwill to purchase blankets and clothing. Please consider making a less fortunate person's day brighter by making a donation. I am reminded of a couple of scriptures that apply: “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’" Matthew 25:45 NIV and Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two small coins. “I tell you the truth,” Jesus said, “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.” Luke 21:2 - 4 NIV Every little bit helps. There is nothing that is too small. All proceeds go directly to the ministry.

I want to remind you guys that my plans are to visit the homeless, giving them what comfort I can, along with hope. Not only the homeless, but people who have been effected by the economy, floods, fires, etc. Your donations will help me help others so, please consider giving to this mission. I am just a tool for God to use in sharing His love, comfort and hope.

My Sunday school class donated 95 Bibles to the ministry/mission this morning! What an awesome God we serve! Also, to clarify, my mission is a continuous mission that will last until the Lord calls me home. The 5600 mile leg is only the first leg of this street ministry. After I settle in at my sister's place, I will begin another mission trip that will begin in Los Angeles and go north to Vancouver, BC (maybe farther north if God leads). Your donations will not only fuel the trip but will also provide blankets, food, Bibles, and other sundry needs of the homeless street people. Please consider donating to this cause.

Hey guys!
I have talked to some of you already but I am ready to make it common knowledge. I was told that I have cancer in August 2012. I wasn't sure what to do with this information so, I prayed for help (for a whole year) in dealing with it correctly. The answer that I received was phenomenal!
Let me digress a little and tell you about my condition. I have multiple myeloma (a very slow growing cancer) and I have decided (with God's guidance) to not undergo treatment. First of all, God let me know in no uncertain terms that He isn't finished with me yet. I had actually told the little Indian doctor that "Neither he nor any human can tell me when I will die"! He was humored by this and laughed and agreed with me. So, that was settled.
God graciously answered my next question which was "What Now?" in short order. He placed a calling on me that I gladly accepted. God knows how much that I like to travel and how much I like to talk to people. He told me (much like Jesus to the Disciples) to drop everything and "hit the road" with Him. So, I am!
I began The Bucket List Ministries and made plans to hit the road and do street ministry. My trip will begin around November 22, 2013 and will comprise around 5600 miles from coast to coast! I am taking my dog, Jaeda, with me for help. Capital One bank has graciously offered their services to help with donations / contributions. Deposits may be made at any Capital One Bank in the world to Bucket List Ministries! God has been mightily working with me in this endeavor and I am so thankful! My church has provided me with several cases of Bibles to distribute, a cartop carrier and a few other items. They are being very supportive of my mission! If you would like to help with items that I may need, I have a wish list at Amazon.com. To access this list, click on the following link.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/1VU1XTBJU9NRD  I know that this is short notice but, all is in God's time.  I will also have a page on FaceBook where I will post stories, pictures, etc. along the way. My ultimate destination will be Winchester, CA at my sister's place.

There, I did it!

My love in Christ to all of you who have been and will continue to be my friends and family!

Less than a month before my mission begins! I am still in need of funds which will allow me to give help the homeless and less fortunate along my 5600 mile route. Please help support this mission! Every little bit can make a big difference in someone's life. Don't forget that we are all just one disaster away from becoming hopeless or homeless. It could be a natural disaster, an accident or a serious illness. Help me to share hope through Jesus to victims of circumstances that were not entirely in their control.

Since going public with my illness, I have noticed some interesting anomalies in my life. The one thing that stands out the most is that several of my closest friends, and even some family, have essentially seemed to have abandoned me while, at the same time, friends that I haven’t been in touch with (Melinda Thomas, Julie Denson and Helen Newman, Christi Gray, Joyce Shoebridge, Christy Edmunds, Bill Powdrill just to name a few), some for years, have stepped up like warriors to support me. At first, this baffled me. But after careful thought, I realized that some of my friends and family are actually exhibiting the first stages of grief! The first stage is denial followed by anger. My initial reaction to this abandonment was to feel rejected, sad and basically depressed. The thing that was going through my head was “How can you abandon me in my time of greatest need and joy”? Sure, I am going to die just like everyone else but, I was called to use my gift of time to spread the joy of knowing Christ! So, here I am, joyful of being used by the Lord and people are not sharing in my joy. Talk about cognitive dissonance! Having pondered this and reading the scriptures, I realized that, first of all, I was being selfish! I was only viewing the situation through my eyes and I was failing to look at the situation from their perspective! Satan had tainted my perception by making me look at myself as the victim! What I had failed to see is that those that are experiencing grief are feeling like victims too! Satan had lured me into “self” and had blurred my vision of “others”. Wow, what a fool I have been! After having counseled folks for years, I had fallen into the same trap that I had warned the people I counseled about. God tells us to “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT). The Bible even gives us hope when we are going through the grief process: “God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 NLT “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” 2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT So, with that said, I want to apologize for my selfishness and short-sightedness in failing to acknowledge any pain that I have caused and I want to share my joy with all those who need comfort and hope. I am hopeful because the Bible tells us: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4 NLT In that I receive hope and joy in the knowledge that we will all meet in the presence of the Lord one day! So, rather than grieving before there is any loss, and with the knowledge that our time here is totally controlled only by God Himself, let’s use our time to glorify God! “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.” Mark 13:32 NLT
