This is genius. He starts by demonstrating a highly visual way of programming and creating an animation. He makes it perfectly clear how creative programming really is, and how antiquated our current process is. And then he takes his entire talk to a much higher level. Very much worth watching.

Interesting comment from the article: "I know how lucky I am to be a Web Developer, in California, in 2011. This allows me freedoms that few today can enjoy. We are the 0.01%!"

It's funny because I finished up my degree right after the dot com bust and many IT courses were being cancelled as a result.

I guess IT is what's hot on the streets right now.

Christian Cantrell originally shared:

Some notable excerpts:

Mr. Meek and his roommate ... sat together in the kitchen filing for unemployment and drinking a bottle of Champagne.

“I’m still scratching my head ... I went to the right schools, I know the right people and I’m very good at what I do."

“The new status jobs aren’t at Goldman Sachs. They’re at Google, Apple and Facebook.”

The ex-Nomura employee ... said she had recently come across a group of Occupy Wall Street protesters in Lower Manhattan. While she said she did not support all their ideals, she could now sympathize with their frustrations about high unemployment and a growing sense of economic hopelessness.
