I was going through some old files and just cannot believe that I didn't process this one from White Sands, New Mexico.  I did a quick weekend trip there a couple of years ago.  They had a balloon invitational at the White Sands National Monument.  When I read about the balloon invitational, I just could not get the vision of colorful balloons rising from behind pure white sand dunes, out of my head.  By my way of thinking, the image would be "Sugar and Lollipops", if I could capture it.  That image was previously posted here.  This image was taken while the balloons were being filled.  The owners were very kind and accommodating to photographers.

It has been on my photography shot list to get an image of the Laguna Beach Lifeguard Tower with some drama in the sky. Last night's weather report seemed promising. The early morning sky, before sunrise, had the type of clouds I had hope would show up. I scooped up the photography gear, woke Jan and made a mad dash for Laguna Beach.
I favor the Black & White version. Which one do you like?

Since the horizon looked so interesting, I had to try the artsy shot as well!

From a recent reunion ~ Actor Brian Thompson, from the movie "Cobra", with Knifemaker H. J. Schneider.  Mr. Schneider designed and made the knife that Mr. Thompson's character used in the movie.

Still striking and intimidating after all these years!

Thanks for the visit, Brian!

This is an image of me trying to do some light painting of the 1937 Chevy at the ghost town of Bodie with the Milky Way watching.  I was very surprised to see that my "Tom Cruise" good looks show up as red hot in the image!  :)  At least that's my explanation.

Labor Day weekend was spent as a road trip to Mono Lake and the ghost town of Bodie.  There was two minutes of incredible light at Mono Lake.  These are the moments that landscape photographers hope to experience.
