You’re never too young to be smart about money! At three special Warren Public Library programs, children will learn about money, listen to a story, and make a craft. Each child who attends will receive a free book, "The Berenstain Bears’ Dollars and Sense"!

- Civic Center Library: Saturday, April 18, at 2:00 p.m. Please call 586-751-0770 to register. (Adult financial literacy programs will be held on April 20 and April 22.)

- Miller Branch Library: Monday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. Please call 586-751-5377 to register. (Family Financial Planning for adults will be held at the same time.)

Burnette Branch Library: Saturday, April 25, at 11:00 a.m. Please call 586-758-2115 to register.

“Money Smart Week @ your library” is a national initiative between the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve Bank (Chicago) to provide financial literacy programming.

Looking for something fun to do on this dreary spring break day? Join us for a Block Party at Civic Center Library this afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. We'll have the library's LEGO and DUPLO available in the children's area for kids to build and create! No registration required.

It's National Library Week! To celebrate, Civic Center Library has three contests available through this Saturday, April 18:

- Children (age 11 and under) can participate in a mouse scavenger hunt in the library. One winner will receive four tickets to the show "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" on Sunday, June 7.

- Teens (ages 12 to 17) can guess the number of wrapped treats in a jar. One winner will receive the jar of treats and another prize.

- Adults can guess the number of jelly beans in a bottle. One winner will receive four tickets to the show "Potted Potter: A Harry Potter Parody" on Saturday, May 2.

We also are accepting entries for the student bookmark design contest through Wednesday, April 22!

Reminder: All Warren Public Library locations will be closed Friday, April 3 - Sunday, April 5 for the Easter holiday. Regular hours will resume Monday, April 6.

Now through April 30, all Warren Public Libraries are participating in the Gleaners' Food for Thought program. Next time you stop by the library, please consider also bringing a donation of donations of nonperishable food items to help those in need.

Not a fan of Valentine's Day? Then come un-celebrate with others who feel the same way at Civic Center Library's Un-Valentine's Day Party for Teens next Thursday, February 12, from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. We'll make un-Valentines and other crafts, listen to un-love songs, and have some sweet (but un-lovey-dovey) snacks. Ages 12 to 17. Registration required; please call 586-751-0770.
