I've seen the sun on the horizon at midnight, climbed the old broken down train station in Detroit, and lived through some of the coldest temperatures in the continental United States (all while getting two degrees in opposing fields!)

So i'm sure there are tons of bad reviews...But well. Really I can call these guys my drunk guardian angels? i've had some odd experiences and the cabbies with Yellow Cab have still gotten me home.

I've heard rumors that Google is bringing Google Fiber to town, hopefully that will make Comcast act less shady. My experiences with this company were not positive, with poor service and fees for services that the modem they provided us weren't capable of providing.

Just got my first haircut at August Salon (the signs are a little confusing for the shopping center, a few seem to call it Michael's Salon.) and I think I found my barber at Umich for the next three years. Very nice hairdressers, good haircut, nice environment and well bluntly for men, nice price (was only 15$) and was able to come in and get back to north campus within 45 minutes.

I'd been driving to Austin from the midwest and my car broke down north of Waco a bit. Being new to the area I had no idea what to do but the tow guy I called recommended Fred's Repair. Nervously I went and was still fairly nervous since I'd never been to the area. Fred and his staff though are extremely friendly and nice. They were super busy and couldn't get to me til late, but he stayed after hours and tried to help me. My transmission was totally dead in the end, which was beyond an hours repair, but he still helped me get in contact with a tow truck to get the rest of the way to Austin. If you have a problem like mine, I'd actually go elsewhere cause he doesn't deserve a problem like that again :). But if you're looking for a very genuine, honest business and your problem fits his main business (Radiator and other Auto Repair) go here. He definitely made my first impression of Texas a positive one and helped turn what was a pretty terrible day into a much less bad one.

I recently had an issue with my Laptop and their repair department fixed it for me. It was a wonderful experience, only reason I'm only listing Good for service is that they have a few actions of service I'd enjoy seeing changed. It seems to be purely a local business, so they wouldn't ship the fixed laptop to me or let me pay over the phone (had a friend ship it to me). Other than that, I'd return again, they fixed my laptop and got Apple to honor the warranty on the product when they wouldn't otherwise.

I just moved into town and wanted to get a nice, local haircut for when I start doing interviews. The price was pretty decent, the location was nice, but more than that, the atmosphere was simply nice and friendly. It is one of the better haircuts I've had, definitely better than when I've gone to salons and paid like 30 bucks for a similar or even worse product. Plus the side business of costumes was a nice little perk to the scene. I will definitely be going back for a second haircut.
