I do not know what people like about this place. Ambience is very bad, too much noise and it is dark. You do not really see your food -which I do not like. I will not go again. Asked for glass of Merlo and it was crappy wine.

Delicious Asian fusion in a lively setting. The Dan Dan noodles were excellent and generously portioned. Would recommend for a date night or special event.

The happy hour food I had was really good, sliders and wontons or something like that. They were really good. Drinks were decent, but I like my drinks heavy on the pour so take it how you will.

Outstanding food, I'd highly recommend getting the tasting menu, it's a well priced and portioned menu that allows you to get a taste of most items on their menu. For 4 people or more the selection of items is upped from 7 to 9, so make sure to bring your appetite! The Korean fried chicken appetiser is my personal favourite and I recommend it very highly!

Worst place for Valentine's Day. Had a reservation, but can't even get a table? We were seated around the open kitchen, where we could clearly see how such food was made and got fed up already. The loud music and noise... I'd say the whole building is a factory rather than a restaurant. Pekin Duck, seriously? Cook duck like how you cook steak, make it medium rare inside but still impossible to chew?

Have been to Sampan a few times and loved it. Last week five of us went and decided to try the tasting menu for the table-WOW-what a great value! It was $45 per person and the food just kept coming and coming. We even had to take leftovers home. And it was all the excellent, well prepared food we have always enjoyed. When you go, do the tasting menu-it sounds like a lot of money but the value is great and you will have tried items you probably would not have noticed otherwise. Trust me, it's worth it! Thank you, Sampan, for yet another great dining experience.

Sampan is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the ambiance is gorgeous, and the drinks are good. The edamame dumplings are amazing... I crave them! Definitely try the tasting menu too... The food comes out as it is ready, and it's a lot of it. Don't let the small plates fool you!

Modern Asian food in an intimate setting? Yes, please! A 7 course tasting menu for under $50? Sign me up! Some dishes were better than others but overall, a memorable meal. The mahi mahi taco was quite possibly the best taco I've had in my life and scallop and bacon satay was also terrific. The pork bun and short rib were both yummy but on the dry side but the edamame dumplings (which were shaped more like ravioli) and mini-ice cream cones that finished the meal were quite good. The cocktails were also terrific (try the rum punch, which packs a--well, you know--without being too sweet). Make sure to check out the bathroom and see how many movie quotes (which are piped in through speakers) you can identify.
