KETV First News Co-Anchor, athlete, lover of all things chocolate!
Introduction

Alex joined the KETV NewsWatch 7 team in August 2011 and was named the First News Traffic to Go reporter in November 2011. Alex took on the role of First News weekday anchor (4:30 am to 7:00 am) in September 2013. She is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and sociology.

She grew up on a cattle ranch in South Dakota with a passion for sports, animals and photography. During high school, Alex participated in swimming, basketball, cross country, track and softball. She continued in athletics as a swimmer at the University of Minnesota, but she later transferred to South Dakota State University. During her first season as a Jackrabbit, Alex broke nine school records. She was also a NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.

“Having spent sixteen years of my life as a competitive athlete, I’ve learned the value of hard work. I have a natural drive to compete for breaking news,” said Alex.

Alex has wanted to be a reporter for as long as she can remember. She won a College Student Television Award for editing as well as an Eric Sevareid Award of Merit for spot news coverage. She is excited to start her professional career in television at KETV. Before moving to Omaha, Alex worked as an intern for KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, S.D.

“I love sharing stories that change people’s perspective on life,” she said.

In her spare time, Alex enjoys reading, running, cooking, movies and spending time with friends and her husband, John.
