When this song first came out, I thought it was from They Might Be Giants.

The new user profiles feature in android 5 is fantastic. At last, I can keep my work contacts and calendars separate from my personal life. Like having two phones in one.

Get the other console.  I caught a mean case of strep, and in addition to antibiotics, the doctor prescribed a new game console to cheer me up (it was that or codeine).  Since i enjoyed my xbox360 so much, i thought I'd go with the xbox one.  Let me save you from wasting your money.

The main problem is the hop from the previous 360/ps3 generation to the new one/ps4 consoles is that there really isn't much of a difference in the gaming experience.  720p to 1080p isn't much of a hop at all - I picked up a copy of GTV because I liked the 360 version so much, and honestly, I couldn't tell I was playing a new generation of the game (except for the added first person play option).

So is there any advantage for the new console?  Perhaps the more powerful machines can support more activity on the screen (more characters at one time), or smarter AI?  The answer should be yes, but for now, I'm not seeing any games marketed with these advantages.

Games aside, the xbox one was supposed to be the all in one entertainment center.  Intelligent TV, internet streaming, VOIP (skype) and all that.  Of course, the 360 handled everything on that list except for intelligent TV.  And xbox one doesn't even handle tv well at all.  It adds yet another programming guide to your TV service and one that doesn't add any value on top of the set box device used for cable tv already.  I suppose if you only use digital antennas, it is a plus.  But for everyone else, it will feel like a weak add on - for example - my xbox one guide doesn't filter out channels I'm not subscribed to - so right off the bat, my fios set box is a much better experience.

For those that must yield to the marketing pressures, I would recommend trying out the "other" console -- if you have an xbox 360 - try out the ps4 - and visa versa.  The reason for that are the exclusives.  You get to try out the gaming franchises that you were locked out of on your older console, making the upgrade a fresher experience.  Honestly, I'm not going to play thru my new $60 copy of GTA-V.  It's the exact same game as was released on my 360.  But I would have like a shot at Infamous & Uncharted.
