Howdy, y'all.  Very excited to finally see a good use for g+.  I started my m4/3 adventure with the e-pl1 and am now with the em5.  I print what's salvageable on my aging Canon 9000 Mark II.

I have the poor man's collection of primes: pana 12, oly 17, and sigma 30 along with the 9-18 (my fav), 14-42, and the 12-50.

I came very close to returning the em5 - as much as I loved to capability, my fingers were at total war with the ergonomics.  But lately, I've been warming up to the paltry grip, and on extended days, I'll switch up to the battery grip.

Anway, cheers to everyone.

+Mark Ortaliz That's a good idea. Carrying two bodies takes up twice the space just to save a few seconds! Definitely better off saving for another lens. You can't have too much glass!

Here comes the Evil. The momentum is clear - ASP-C sized DSLRs are on the outs, being replaced by surging sales in the Mirrorless-Interchangeable Lens market. Sony and Nikon are the latest to enter, with Pentax & Canon to follow. DSLR will be relegated to full frame sensors, and even in that market, there will be some erosion led by Sony's A77 which features an innovative hybrid system that merges OLED & a mirror operation - getting the best of both worlds. SLR purists courted by Canon & Nikon will espouse the purity of the mirror, essentially revisiting the audiophile argument of analog versus digital. Oh what fun we meat bags are.

The big news of the week is that Nikon is now in the mirrorless market with 2 new models: the V1 & J1. But as I've said before, Nikon & Canon are terrified of internally competing with their successful DSLR lines, so their new mirrorless cameras will have less capable sensors than what is in their DSLRs. I call this the Pentax strategy - as they were the first to preview a small sensor in their Q line. The other strategy I'll call the Sony strategy, which says, hey, full sized ASP-C sensors for all cameras - and let individual preferences decide to mirror or not.

Though my m43 lens collection is slowly growing, I am reserving the right to jump to Sony's amazing NEX-7. Only my budget is holding me back - NEX-7 kit will go for $1300, and right off the bat, I'm going to need a wider prime for my landscapes. Its only money...
