A.R. Rahman is perhaps the most recognized and respected composer in the Indian Subcontinent. But this cacophony at CES exposes how such studio manufactured idols can shatter before a live audience. Without the support of a pre-recorded track and an army of talented performers A.R. Rahman is nothing but a gimmick when compared to even Shopping Mall stage performers.
I cannot end this short review without giving my piece of mind the co-conspirator to this horrendous musical murder: Siva Mani. Shiva Mani was, of course, his usual self. Nothing more nothing less. As always he did what he could muster with his limited skills. Making it all the more obvious to us that without the presence of the great Zakhir Hussain he is an unimaginative clown that jumps around on stage pretending to do music.
