As you know, April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Every 15 minutes, one child is confirmed as abused or neglected in Massachusetts.

While the tragedies of child abuse often dominate the headlines, we know that there are countless ways that people, organizations, and communities across the Commonwealth are taking the lead in stopping harm to children before it ever occurs.

Together, we can stop child abuse in Massachusetts.

Here are ways you can help in April.

The good news is that, together, we can stop child abuse and neglect.

That is why we are asking you to join us April 26th during Child Abuse Prevention Month as we rally to raise awareness and build momentum for the movement to stop child abuse.

Very tragically, two 3-year-old twins died of vehicular heatstroke in Louisiana this weekend, marking the 14th and 15th cases in the U.S. this year. They were found in an unattended pickup truck.

Folks, we CAN prevent these tragedies by spreading the word. Half of child hot car deaths are from a caregiver forgetting a child in the car, and another third are from kids getting into an unattended vehicle. While many parents think it might never happen to them, there are some tips and habits that can help ensure that it never does. The best we can do, together, is to SPREAD THE WORD.

Join our Thunderclap and lend a tweet or Facebook post to help spread the word: thndr.me/9TsXkk. We need 100 supporters by 6:34pm today and we will kick off the official start of summer with hundreds of thousands of people getting the important message that we can prevent child hot car deaths.
