It seems like Google, LG and Qualcomm worked together to improve the Nexus 5X problems (weird performance, weird ram management etc). I found it odd that this latest March security update has a completely different build code for the Nexus 5X. I went looking and there seems to be a whole newer Kernel branch, and according to what I'm seeing there is substancial changes (such as changing the internal Kernel clock from 100HZ to 300HZ, it's the first time I see Google playing with that) and other crap (not going into many details here).

They are also playing with something really cool in another branch called Energy Awaring Scheduling, which basically ARM's default scheduling solution for multi-clusters. The default mechanism is called HMP, Heterogeneous multi-processing, where Qualcomm has played a big role, but if anyone follows that scene, it's a little defective. I suggest you to read this article: http://www.linaro.org/blog/core-dump/energy-aware-scheduling-eas-progress-update/

We'll see how that plays out for the Nexus 5X. I've been running EAS lately on my 5X and it's been solid, but as with these things there's a lot more to it than just "solid".
