Sunday's sermon on Facing Opposition to Jesus.
Two things we need to remember: (1) We must obey God rather and than men; and (2) God is sovereign. It does not surprise God that people oppose Him and Jesus, His anointed one. In fact, He has planned and purposed it. This sovereignty becomes a motivation to pray for boldness.

Here is Sunday's sermon on Acts 2:33-41. Some of you are familiar with the whole "Lordship salvation debate" --do we need to repent (turn from sin in sorrow) in coming to the Lord Jesus Christ. The short answer: yes. Christ is heralded as Lord by Peter's preaching of the gospel. There is no believing upon Him as Savior apart from the confession that He is Lord, e.g. God and King. In fact, Peter emphasis here is: repent because God made Jesus Messiah & Lord [i.e. sovereign ruler of creation].

Salvation entails confessing that Jesus is Lord and turning to Him in repentance. We need to recognize that God has exalted Jesus Christ to His own right hand and placed all authority on earth under Him. Our response is to yield to Him and repentantly confess "Jesus is Lord".
