Another Portland establishment that carries its weight but whose real asset is its x factor. Servers are good, but often very busy. The atmosphere depends heavily upon where you're seated; I prefer indoor dining, but many like the semi-enclosed tents that embalm the place, which is often the only place seating is available when it's busy. Prices are on the high side, but not terrible. Happy hour offers a bit of a break, though it's still not cheap. Pok Pok has a pleasant, intimate, and hip feeling all its own, which is what keeps its customers coming back in a city with many great Thai restaurants. If you can, I recommend coming during off-peak hours; it's quieter, less harried, and easier to relax and enjoy your food and drink alone or with friends.

Came here during my stay in Portland. They offer reservations but only for parties of 5 or more so we had to wait a bit to actually be seated. It's a charming place on the outside and cozy but at times a little cramped inside with how busy it is. Service was a little slow but it was to be expected with how busy it was at the time. Overall I don't have any complaints about this place but nothing really stuck out about it. The phat khanaeng was good along with the coconut rice and the serving sizes are fairly large, meant to be shared. I think I actually enjoyed the whiskey soda lounge more waiting for our table.

Sorry but I don't get the big hub-ub about this place. It has definite charm with its outdoor Christmas lights and funky seating. I reserved a table for six ahead of time and my table was promptly ready. The space for such tables, however, is sort of average and feels like an after thought. This place really is not welcoming to vegans as their one curry noodle dish I'm pretty sure I could get tastier from a food cart over on Alder. I also think their alcoholic drinks are pretty weak. My friends got the chicken wings and just raved, those seem to be worth the hype.

Make sure to get there around 11:20 am so you can get in line and sit right when they open at 11:30! Husband loved the vegetarian Curry with Tofu and the coconut rice is also so delicious. The wings are the most savory wings I've ever had, the papaya salad and the Khao Muu Daeng as well. I'm not a big fan of their desserts, I do usually love Thai/Laotian desserts but if I had to eat it again I'd go with the affogato (strong coffee on small bowl with a ball of coconut ice cream and 2 crispy Thai fried donuts).

Love Love Love the food AND, the service. I have a super sensitive peanut allergy, so I typically avoid Thai food. Pok Pok went out of their way to accommodate me; our waiter even looped back to warn me that my first selection was prepped on a station that may cause me problems. I made a new selection at his suggestion (Hang Leh) and was completely in love.

So I've been to this restaurant twice now. The first time was amazing! I have raved about it to everyone I know. The second time, I didn't eat. I arrived on a Saturday night at 7pm. Okay, I knew we would have to wait. I was told that there would be a 2 - 2.5 hour wait for my party of 6. They asked for my phone number and said I would receive a call when my table was ready. I never received a call. Epic fail Pok Pok, epic fail.
