When Maple Rock Pedalboards was founded in October 2015, I wanted my little company not only to rival the quality of some of the great builders, but to be a true supporter of the Canadian Music Industry. And although I had been building pedalboards for quite some time, as a boutique builder, it was time to get serious and launch Maple Rock Pedalboards.

It was shortly after our launch of our new web site, in April of 2016 that I had the privilege of meeting Billy MicMillan. Bill responded to an ad I had posted on Kijiji for a pedal board I had for sale. This young, aspiring pro guitarist had a vision for what he wanted for his board. Bill truly understood the dynamics of putting together a rig to not only shape his tone, but to help define his image as an artist. So we went to work on his new pedalboard.

Since that first Custom shop board for Mr. McMillan, Bill has been an amazing supporter of Maple Rock. He has invited me to shows, given me access to his resources and friendships, and always made time for me and my crew during his hectic schedule. And I was very happy when Bill agreed to take one of Maple Rock's first ProSeries Pedalboards for a test run. Bill's pedalboard and case has traveled back and forth across North America, seen countless live performances, and spent many of hard working hours in the studio. Thanks to Bill's feedback on these creatures we have been able to make our ProSeries Pedalboards the best they can be!

As a full time professional guitarist and touring musician Bill's insights and friendship to Maple Rock Pedalboards is greatly appreciated. I can say without hesitation that I am not only proud of how Bill represents my brand, or how he conducts himself as a professional, I am proud to call him my friend. Not only is my shop his shop, but my home is his home also.

Be sure to check out Bill McMillan's artist page on our web site.
