Class 4-303 has been exploring decimal fractions! Here they are sorting and matching grids, fractions, and decimals. Be sure to ask them questions such as:
-How can you use your knowledge of money to understand decimal place value? (For example, how many cents is 0.04?)
-Which is greater: __ or __? How do you know?
-How can you rewrite this fraction as a decimal?
-Are these numbers equivalent? How do you know?
-How are decimals and fractions related?

4-303 returned to South Street Seaport this week! Students were archaeologists, examining artifacts from New Amsterdam and thinking about what daily life was like in New Amsterdam!

Here are some questions that you can ask your archaeologist about the objects:
-What were the objects used for?
-What were the objects made from?
-Where did they come from?
-Who made them?
-Who used them?
-Are there any objects that exist today that have the same jobs?
