How Microsoft tricks software companies!
With VS 2015, Microsoft know is supporting Linux and it's software infrastructure. Best: VS Ultimate (the uncrippled version)
is now half price
: Affordable $5999
But now a closer look
at that license, e.g. the "Patent Grant"
At first sight
, everything looks ok and pretty fair. A second look reveals a legal trap
. In fact, it's a TROJAN HORSE
: If your company owns software patents, you can't sue Microsoft or force Microsoft to pay patent fees. Or you have to remove
all Microsoft and Microsoft related software in your whole company
So, that's a highly viral
legal problem. If only a single computer
in your company is Microsoft C# - "Roslyn" infected
, all your company's software patents simply become - void.
is a Trojan Horse
for any software company. MS lawyers are expensive.
In that context also see upcoming #TTIP
"free trade" agreement. With signing that contract, Europe signs to respect U.S. trivial patents
on european territory. Bad! Very bad!
My urgent advice: Avoid U.S. software companies, especially #Microsoft
and its #Roslyn
.NET environment under all circumstances
