As we honor our graduates tomorrow, we leave them with these verses from Proverbs 3:1-6

1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Join us on Sunday, June 10th, as we welcome Tracie Davis, a local Gospel Comedian who loves God and loves people, to Abundant Life. Tracie combines both these loves to make ministry exciting and fun. Even as she has been battling cancer for the past several years, she continues to use comedy as a ministry to heal and share laughter.

We will also recognize our 2018 graduates. See you Sunday!

The presence of the Lord blessed us during Praise & Worship yesterday at Abundant Life. We traded our sickness, pain & sorrows for the joy of the Lord. This song was especially real for one of our families present, who had a relative tragically killed early in the morning. As we worshiped we prayed for their comfort.
Pastor Dan began his message by singing “Amazing Grace.” His message was taken from 2 Chronicles 7:12-14, subject “It’s not about me, but Him - Humble yourself.” He read the definition of humble which is: having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance. The scripture in Philippians 4:5 says, to let your moderation be known to all men. Dan told a personal story about experiences he had which taught him to be humble. He said when we humble ourselves, we will yield to others. He reminded us to always give glory to God, to be grateful & encourage others. It’s. It about impressing people, but impressing God. On a daily basis we have to humble ourselves & pray. It says in Romans 14:11........every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Sunday, Abundant Life paused to give tribute to the late Dr. Elinor Montgomery, on what we call “Hat Day!”👒 We wore Hats to honor her memory & represent the hats she wore each Sunday to church services. The worship & praise team sang a medley of some of Dr. Montgomery’s favorite songs. Her great niece, Jessica Roberts, sang another of her beloved songs, “ Because of Who You Are.“ We were so happy to have her sister, Catherine; and two great-granddaughters, 5 mo. old Honor Elinor & 2 mo. old Audrianna; the newest additions, and many other family members in service with us. Pastor Cheryl gave the message on today, reflecting the wisdom that Dr. Montgomery imparted into her family and thousands of others during her lifetime of walking with Christ. The title of the message was: “Destiny’s Child,” based on the story of Esther. Scriptures were, Esther 4: 14-16. She spoke of Esther’s destiny to become queen and ultimately save her people, the Jews from death. Like Esther, we are children of destiny. She talked about favor, obedience, timing, and purpose. She encouraged us to walk in our purpose. God who has started a work in us, is able to finish it and make us a child of destiny!
