I had an awesome experience here ,today. Love it ! I've already received compliments which is a huge tell-tale sign. The salon over all has a really fun vibe to it, from the moment i walked in the door everyone was extremely friendly. The place is gorgeous. I was offered a coffee or latte while I waited,(note to self x-nay the Starbucks before my next trip :) The stylist was very sweet and did a fantastic job. The color was great and I've never had a cut this precise The service at the salon is exceptional and i never felt uncomfortable at all. Needless to say I will be returning to the salon. In fact I made an appointment for the end of the week for a mani/pedi before I go out this weekend. Oh a nice surprise before I left they have a shop attached to the salon, where i picked up the cutest jeans:) to go out in I left with a huge smile on my face,we all know how good a great haircut can make you feel! Theyre great here Two thumbs up **

I have been to several salons or spas in the Boston area and I have to say that Jathar is the best. Finally, I am treated the way one deserves to be treated at a spa. Between the customer service and the AMAZING and talented stylists, you will leave in a much better mood than when you walked in. By the way, Erica...your hot stone massage is GREAT! Thank you all for my new favorite place to be.

Kristin is simply the best. Hands down, I would travel to have her do my extensions, lucky for me she's close. She is so good it's crazy. I always wanted to have thick blond hair, a la California surfer girl chick- and natural looking! not fake bimbo extensions. And she did it. I met her at an event out and about in Boston for about 5 minutes. My friend said she should do my extensions, I wondered how seeing me for 5 minutes in a dark crowded environment she could match my hair , my friend who is a singer/performer said just trust me, I went to her and she did it, she used different colors and now I am hooked. The hair makes such a difference, because you can go out of the house, not feel great and your hair is always fantastic, it's such a self-esteem booster! I love this amazingly talented woman!!!! Kudos to Jathar Salon and Spa

I don't know what all the complaints are about. Sour grapes. This place is great. Full of talented people who do excellent work for reasonable prices. They handle last minute schedule changes with a smile, fit you in if possible, and basically do everything they can to make you feel at home. I usually HATE salons: this place is the exception. Parking is easy, results are great, and prices are reasonable. What's not to like?

I make the drive from Danvers every two weeks to see my most favorite group of hairstylists. These ladies I provide so much comfort and inspiration while applying their techiniques in providing the best results every time I visit. The atomesphere in this salon is very professional and relaxing all in the same moment. If you have any questions or concerns pertaining to beauty, hair, etc, they always provide the most educated answers and they truely do care! You would be missing out if you didnt get there today!

Unprofessional experience... I purchased a Groupon for a 30 minute blow-out about a couple of months ago. I typically get my blow outs done at Dalleria salon in Burlington but wanted to give this salon a try. Upon booking my appointment on the phone, it took me 3 times to get through. The first time, I was put on hold for over 10 minutes. I ended up hanging up and calling again. The second time the phone just kept ringing. The 3rd time I got through. I told the receptionist that I wanted to book an appt for Saturday for a blow-out and had a Groupon. The receptionist immediately said nobody can come in for a blow-out on Saturday the only day would be Friday. It appeared that she didn't even look at the schedule. Seeing as though it was the holiday weekend and I was booking last minute, I understood what she said and told her that I would book on Friday. As I was booking the appointment, the first thing the receptionist said was that I need your credit card number information and groupon number (seeing as though I have worked in a salon, I knew exactly why she needed my credit card number). Although, my experience when giving out credit card information, is to explain upfront to the client why they need this information. After I gave her all the information she needed to book the appointment, she then proceeded to tell me that I would get fully charged for this service if I cancelled or no showed. At this point, I was a bit frustrated and just told her that I knew why she need this and would be in tomorrow for my service. Upon going to my appointment on Friday, I arrived 15 minutes early, When I arrived, I was asked to sit in the waiting area. A stylist approached me on time for the appointment. She asked me what I was hear for and took me to the sink. Upon blow drying my hair, she put in a spray (never explained what she was spraying on my hair) and started to blow dry my hair. As she was blow drying my hair, I had to tell the stylist how that I wanted my hair parted.. After the stylist was done blow drying my hair, I noticed that my hair was a bit frizzy. The stylist said that she needed to use a flat iron. I don't typically use flat iron because they get so hot that they brake my hair. I told her this and she said that my hair was still frizzy and would be careful. The stylist also said that she put in a heat protector before she blew dried my hair (I was thinking to myself why didn't she tell me this upfront). The stylist did offer to use a hair spray. I told her that because my hair is dry that I only use oils (e.g. monrocan oil). I noticed that the salon uses this product but the stylist never offered this or any other hair smoothing product. She only said that it was a good that I use oil on my hair. When the service was over, I gave the stylist money for a tip. I ended up waiting in line in back of 2 other people to check out. I noticed that there was a second girl at the desk just standing their and never even acknowledge me or the other client. Upon checking out , I gave the receptionist my groupon receipt. She then asked me if I tipped the stylist. I was horrified. Tipping is optional not a requirement. Because I worked in the service industry, I know better to tip people (even if the do a poor job). This was a 30 minute blow out and the fact that the salon receptionist asked me if I tip the stylist was very unprofessional. Bottom line (which was my gut instinct going into this appt), this salon did not like the fact that I had Groupon and felt like they wanted to make sure they could make as much money off of this 30 minute blow dry service. If this salon did not want to use Groupon, then they should of never signed up for this service. I will never go back to this unprofessional salon for any services.

I love coming to this place. When I walk into the door I feel like I am royality! Comfortable waiting area when I can have a latte or chi tea while I wait. Friendly service from start to finish. I am friends with Jathar Salon on Twitter and I get cool discounts and special deals.

I went to the salon and requested burgundy highlights to cover up the old blonde. At the end when I was finished the stylist informed me it was temporary and I would need to come back in 4 weeks for another color treatment. After two weeks the color was gone and my burgundy color faded and began to turn my old blonde into a nice pumpkin color. Not so bad right because now I can be the centerpiece for any Fall Harvest party! I contacted the Office Manager to inform her of my situation and she informed me that the stylist told me that it was temporary and I'd have to return to have the permanent done. I informed her that that was not the agreement and I did not want a temporary color and have to come back. As she was arguing with me, she informed me I was wrong and did not know what I was saying. Obviously the manager does not care about an unhappy customer and they must be financially set because she is not concerned with repeat business, social media and or friend and family recommendations.
