Finished Trish Milburn's Magick, the third and final entry in the Coven trilogy. It's good, but ultimately too fast paced for the story it's trying to tell. I still recommend it, though.

You need it. You're sure as hell should want it. FDO Scott Sigler's Infected #1 is now out on the shelves of all of the comic book stores worth going to. If they don't have it, demand it. It's worth getting!

I've got mixed reactions about Weird Tales choosing not to publish Foyt's first chapter. The book is a racist mess, but I'm bothered by WT's choice to pull the novel based upon internet reaction without having read the book themselves.

I must have been living under a rock because I'd never heard that there were interactive novels on the internet! Here's a cool one to check out: Mind the Thorns by Rob Osterman!

Yikes. While the unintentional racism in Victoria Foyt's book will cause many readers to toss the book away in disgust, Save the Pearls: Revealing Eden is also filled with multitudes of universe inconsistencies, flawed science, and unlikable characters. It's worth a read for the train wreck value, but this won't be winning Foyt any Newberry Awards (or other major award equivalents) any time soon. (The awards this has won aren't major ones, apparently.)
