Well, the end of an era, for sure. As someone who worked for Datamation in print, likely the second computer magazine (1957), I can imagine what long-timers feel. Harry McCracken asks if there are any print computer books remaining started prior to 1983. I'm guessing maybe only some IEEE books?

Thoughtful cautionary tale on big data's validity. Turns out Google's own flu tracker is wildly innaccurate. Good advice about blending big data with more controlled data collection and analysis to get the best from both.
