+Frodo Baggins this is available on F-Droid. That's actually why I came here. Could anybody tell me which files in the app's folder I need to migrate from the Google Play Store to the F-Droid version without losing my progress?

Good news everyone! Pixel Dungeon has been greenlit in just a week and a half. Many thanks to everyone who voted for us, we’ll try not to disappoint you :)

We are going to publish a list of additional features for the Steam version later this week.

I should have used "downgrading" instead of "degrading" when announcing PD 1.7.4, the former bears less negative connotations, am I right?

Anyway, here are some details on 1.7.4 & 1.7.4a, which are not obvious right away:
1. Scrolls of Enchantment & weightstones repair weapons
2. Arcane styli repair armors
3. Class armors are not upgradable, thus they can't downgrade
4. Scrolls of Enchantment can be obtained as world drops

Avian :
(Birdman)
Begins with 25 health
Can see over grass
Can fly over pits and traps
Starts with clothes and and a unique, upgradable Bow
Takes extra damage from projectile attacks (dmg of weapon +1/2 distance)
Cannot touch water (therefore weapons with burning are not advised)
Identifies Potion of Levitation from the start
Avian can only be unlocked by jumping off Three collapsed floors in different themes in a single run.

Sub-classes:

EagleEye - Bow and Projectile weapons never miss
Phoenix - Cannot catch fire and has a 1/3 chance of reviving the first time you are killed (ankh nullifies this ability)
Fearie - Has a small chance of inflicting a random debuffs with every attack

Is there a file in Pixel Dungeon I can back up prior to changing devices or updating my OS version? I run the F-Droid version so it lacks +Google Play​ backup.

+Pixel Dungeon​, If I defeat god like eye, or what, take amulet of Yendor and don't end the game, where is key to go to next room? (I completed Skillful PD, but I think it's same -at the end.)

On the latest update…

…or its “degrading system” to be exact.

As you may guess I’m receiving a lot of negative reviews these days. Nobody likes the idea of equipment, degrading over time, but actually it wasn’t designed to be liked by itself. So why then?

Pixel Dungeon was never meant to be a deep game. It’s just a "coffeebreak" roguelike, it’s nothing compared to Nethack or ADOM for example. And nevertheless in my opinion most people tend to choose a little too straightforward strategy to play it. It looks like this:

- Grind till you get a good piece of equipment
- Invest all your scrolls of upgrade into it
- Profit!

Maybe it was indeed the best strategy or maybe it was just good enough. Either way I didn’t like it. As I said many times before, I can’t complain about how players play the game, but I can try to encourage one way and discourage another. And that’s exactly what this “degrading system” is all about.

You can still arrive to the 25th depth with a Glaive+15 if you really want to, but you need to show some devotion to this plan. You’ll have to upgrade it at right moments of time, you will need a spare weapon to fight lesser mobs etc. Though in most cases it’s reasonable to use upgrades more “evenly”, Glaive+3 and Plate armor+3 is a better combination, than Glaive+6 and Plate armor+0. Anyway, as far as I can judge, choices have to be made more often now and I think, that it’s a good thing.

These changes also have some indirect effects, but there is no need to list them here I guess, you will discover them soon enough (if you choose to keep playing the game of course).

Tonight or tomorrow I’m going to release a hotfix to make everything more… playable… without giving up the idea.

И вообще, офигительная последовательность и логика. «Мне не нравится, что некоторые игроки вкачивают свитки в одно лучшее оружие, потому я выпущу апдейт, в котором… (барабанная дробь) заставлю ВСЕХ дрочить свитками единственный лучший предмет, если нет желания оказаться на 20х уровнях с консервным ножиком или пукалкой!!!»

Где тут разум вообще?

Ну ладно, пусть даже будет износ, но где его встраивание в игру?! Где scroll of repair вместо нахер не нужного в сингле scroll of challenge? Где мастера-ремонтники рядом с торговцами? Где ремонт предмета другим таким же? Нету. Зато все едут по рельсам, и чтоб даже не пытались прокачивать кольца (они теперь одноразовые), несколько посохов и т.п., а хватали лучшее и не давали деградировать (погибая от крыс на первых уровнях в попытке сберечь свитки). А класс battlemage можно сразу подписывать — «для любителей умирать в нищете». Ему теперь запрещены его же классовые особенности.

Новое — хорошо, но не по приказу левой пятки же. А то чушь выходит.
