A proud Pacific black mother duck and her ducklings. These ducks are normally quite shy when they have young around but this mother seemed quite happy to show off her brood for a few crusts of bread and the ducklings squeeled with delight while lapping up the crumbs from the surface of the water... This one from the PEN F is more or less straight out of the camera.

For anyone like me who from time to time gets disatisfied with the raw processing in Lightroom there is a new choice based on Apples Aperture RAW processing engin coded by one of the original Aperture developers Nik Bhatt. RAW POWER from the Apple App store. It is really good on noise reduction and sharpening this image at ISO640 improved a lot with Raw Power compared to LR. There is an Aurora alert for tonight so hopfully we will be cloud free so that I can see what the Pen F will do in the dark...

A found still life with Euphorbia lambii - not Jacqui. This interesting plant has the propensity to become something of a weed in Tasmania as it is in parts of Italy. I struggled over many seasons to grow it in W.A. and here it self seeds and just grows! Olympus EM1 processed in LR
