During LASIK eye surgery, we first numb the patient's eyes with anesthetic drops. Our doctor then uses the Intralase, a laser which is programmed to make a precise thickness flap or a microkeratome, an instrument with a mechanically guided blade, to gently create a precise, hinged flap in the shallow outer layer of the cornea. #LASIKSurgeon #07052Doctor

#LASIK can reduce or eliminate your need for corrective eyewear. The procedure involves using a microkeratome blade or the IntraLase® laser to create a flap in the outer layer of the cornea. An excimer laser then reshapes the center layer of the cornea, allowing light to focus properly on the retina. #EyeCareCenter

Glaucoma can be successfully managed with regular eye exams, medications (usually in the form of eye drops), and, if necessary, laser or standard surgery to improve drainage systems and help the eye self-regulate its pressure. Glaucoma is treatable and does not have to result in blindness if caught early and properly monitored.
