Maybe it is time for +NASA and the +Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum to have a long talk with +Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum about how to properly handle national artifacts.

I find it beyond unacceptable that Enterprise has been damaged two times while under the care of the +Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. For those of you who recall the first instance was the wing damage on the way to the Intrepid that was "fixed" for the hand over even with black spray paint. It is unknown to me if a proper repair was made. Now their temporary structure has fallen on it and clearly damaged at least the tail.

It is truly embarrassing to the reputation of Intrepid to continue to have these problems. It is time for Intrepid to take this role as care taker seriously and if others such as NASA and the Smithsonian feel that the Intrepid Museum can not maybe it is time to move Enterprise to someone who can.

Update: Additional national coverage http://mashable.com/2012/10/30/sandy-space-shuttle-enterprise/

The talk is Huston would still not have gotten it but Enterprise would have been awarded to Seattle had the points been counted correctly.

Today is the fourth and final part of Wisconsin Public Radio's series on Richard Bong. Aeroseums has yet to visit the Richard Bong Heritage Center but it is on our must see list.

It is, in fact, on mine. I had the idea for a mobile living space since 1978 and it really got underway in 2001 when I got a trailer. When mom no longer needs me I plan to finish it and travel the USA.

And one of the high-priority sites is this one!

He and McGuire are my two favorites. I didn't have baseball cards as a kid, I had stories from my dad, about heroes like THESE.

He died the VERY DAY of the first atomic bomb drop....talk about page two news!

The future home of the Internet's predominant listing of aviation and space museums
Introduction
We at Aeroseums are excited about what is coming. We are currently laying the foundation and soon will be erecting the walls on the Internet's predominant listing of aviation and space museums. Aeroseums is built by aviation enthusiasts for aviation enthusiasts, by pilots for pilots (and non-pilots). We look forward to exploring the rich history of aviation together.
