Pleeeze stick to your guns, Avery! I too despise the annoying popup. Everyone will tell you, "Yeah, but it works!" But that's not enough! I say, if it's irritating, rude, and disrespectful of the viewer, 86 it!
Ugh, I face a dilemma as both an author and marketer.
I seriously cannot stand popups. I've jokingly said that if I ever implemented one, feel free to take me out back and whoop some sense back into me.
Yet, the more I learn about marketing, the more I hear people touting the damn popup. Yes, it's impossible to ignore. But it's so annoying that I'm inclined to turn it off and back out of the site.
I dunno. Maybe my way of thinking is outdated. Do I cave into a methodology I abhor to succeed or stick to my guns?
