I just heard that, after a long illness, Dennis Ritchie (dmr) died at home this weekend. I have no more information.

I trust there are people here who will appreciate the reach of his contributions and mourn his passing appropriately.

He was a quiet and mostly private man, but he was also my friend, colleague, and collaborator, and the world has lost a truly great mind.

One of the best tracks I ever heard.

What can I say about an album featuring such tracks as the Tosca Fantasy, Vivaldi Spring (which introduced me into classical crossover in the first place) and , most importantly, Romeo and Juliet played by Edvin Marton?

Photography Poll: Which method are you using for focusing your camera?
(Expand to learn how to participate)

Yesterday, I've stumbled across two post by +James Brandon over at digital-photography-school.com. The first one is about Single Point AF Methods [http://bit.ly/pPYyHX] and the second one is about The Problem With The Focus-Recompose Method [http://bit.ly/rseUcY].

Surprisingly, focusing is something that many DSLR photographers completely leave to their camera which often produces suboptimal results with the wrong object in focus.

Take this little poll before check out these two post. But make sure you do read them! They may be an eye-opener for some of you.

How to take the poll?
1. Expand the comments section first, if necessary
2. +1 the answers that match your preference most closely. You can +1 multiple answers!
3. Share this post so that others can participate as well
4. +1 this post to raise the awareness even more and motivate others to follow
