TERRIFIC: Ouest has stood the test of time. When the truffle souffle omelet is on the menu, we suggest you order it as it's our favorite appetizer. The hanger steak and the salmon are really good, everything is really good, and service is excellent. The large round booths work better for six than for four and it's the kind of restaurant where you can linger after an 8pm reservation. When Ouest opened, I joked that it was the first good reason to come to the UWS since Tip Toe Inn closed. Of course, Freud is right..........there are no jokes.

My wife and I had a rare date night last Friday(4/4/14). She mentioned Ouest and I was excited at the prospect. I have had some really nice dinners there and have always been a fan of Tom Valenti! Everything was lovely. The food delicious and plentiful. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend Ouest 100% and look forward to our next visit. Steve Millington

I went with friends the other night and when one of the diners wasn't served his appetizer at the same time as the others the manager comped us THE ENTIRE DINNER- what a class act- food was also superb as is the wait staff

Tasting menu with wines is like a two-hour vacation in a heavenly spot. Beautiful presentation, flawless execution of each delicate dish, timely and friendly service, and a wonderful harmony from start to finish make this a memorable dining moment and excellent value.

I went to Ouest for my birthday this year and the place is very elegant. The crowd is very business and cultured. We sat all the way at the top of the restaurant all the way in the back at a very romantic table. For appetizers we had the steak tartare that came with these delicious, homemade potato chips, and the mixed greens. For entrees we had the double cut pork chop that was divine. I will come back here just for the pork chop. It was tender and had a wonderful flavor to it. The pasta that came with the pork chop was really good also. I had the ravioli in the truffle sauce. The ravioli were homemade in nice thin pasta.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :) Food: Excellent! I recommend the steak and the endive salad. Drinks: Excellent. Wine list is great. Space: Very sexy, modern and elegant dining areas and bar. This space has multiple levels a informal & formal dining sections and a bar. This place is huge, but you'd never guess it from the outside window front. Scene: Date night. Elegant. Upscale. The bar is small and filled with locals. After being there just 30 minutes, you are gonna feel like you are Norm from Cheers. Crowd: 30-80s. Mostly locals, professional types, and theater goers :) Service: Impeccable service from super friendly staff.

For a place that prides itself on being better than the rest, this place fails miserably. The martinis were "short", the waiter was pushy to get us to order, and to top it off, he made me one of the worst espressos I've ever had. Rather than try to get me a real one, he immediately said he would remove it from the check. Then he brings back another one that's as bad as the first. If this place prides itself on being better than the rest, why don't they hire a barista or train the waiters to make a decent espresso? I'll think twice about ever going back here again!!

excellent food and service and unique menu items. Surgeon salad appetizer was incredible, as well as the duck..Very small, but the wait is minimal. Very warm decor. Would highly recommend.
