My thoughts on the PRISM story.

The new Google+ design is very pleasing to my eyes. But it runs really slow in Chrome. Scrolling is kind of jerky.

Enjoyable program with Richard Dawkins that explores morality in a post-religious age.

So who's still using Google Plus? I'm interested in using it as a sort of Twitter+, instead of the Facebook alternative it's billed as. Speak up if you're actually reading this. If people participate on here, I'll start posting here more for more in-depth conversations.

All the world’s major religions, with their emphasis on love, compassion, patience, tolerance, and forgiveness can and do promote inner values. But the reality of the world today is that grounding ethics in religion is no longer adequate. This is why I am increasingly convinced that the time has come to find a way of thinking about spirituality and ethics beyond religion altogether.

Religious people often tell me silly things like "it takes faith to be an atheist!" After I explain to them that it doesn't require belief to doubt something for which their is no evidence, I'm often told "oh, so you're an agnostic, not an atheist." No, I'm both. It's not a scale of atheist–agnostic–believer. Theism/atheism is one question. Gnosticism/agnosticism is a separate question. Read my post for a full explanation.

If news of the LinkedIn password leak made you worry about anything beyond your LinkedIn account being compromised, you need to seriously rethink your password management strategy.
