Really looking forward to meeting and working with +Dan Scott as well. Stop by this session at ALA if you are at all interested in Schema.org.

So it turns out that +Jason Clark and I just might be long-lost fraternal twins: we're both librarians with a focus on making resources discoverable, with structured data and schema.org being a parallel theme for us over the past year or two.

How did I not know this until recently? How awesome is it that thanks to +Jenn Riley, who advocates for libraries enabling "discovery elsewhere" and who organized this upcoming session, I'm going to be meeting them for the first time on a panel together at the ALA session Understanding schema.org  in a couple of weeks?

It's totally awesome, that's how awesome it is.

Schema.org as a means to markup email. The spec is being applied to markup other types of web functions. https://developers.google.com/gmail/schemas/overview

Markup examples for JSON-LD and microdata are here.

Linkability wins again. Developers take note.
The biggest mistake I’ve made with The Magazine to date is now fixed:

On Sunday, June 29th +Jenn Riley,  +Jason Clark, and I presented at the ALCTS/LITA jointly sponsored session Understanding schema.org. The build-up to the session was pretty amazing; I was delighted to learn that Jason and I had been working on pretty much parallel efforts over the past couple of years. Jenn did a great job of organizing the session, and by the time we started talking 276 people had indicated their interest in attending: that was two more than those who had indicated an interest in attending the BIBFRAME Forum Update scheduled in the same time slot. Our room was large and the attendees did not disappoint: it was quite full.

tldr: Slides and a summary of the (great, from my perspective) session in the linked blog post

A bit of a niche, but still informative for our understanding of microdata markup. Found in Google Webmaster EDU on microdata for videos...

Note: the additional modules on schema.org for videos and video sitemaps
