Very very nice waiter but overall the service was slow. The staff all congregate together, or completely disappear all together. The wait for food and to pay was long... They are lacking leadership to say the least. The food was great, large portions too.

As a regular at Jacob Wirth I can attest to three things: 1. Their corn bread is amazing, and is served at every table when the menus are brought around. 2. Their German fare is the best you can find in a city like Boston. 3. They have some of the best beers on tap. Sing along nights are common at Jacob Wirth and adds to the ambience of the place, but do remember, this may mean that you may not be able to have a quiet conversation with your partner when the sing along is going on. Another thing to remember is that Jacob Wirth closes very early on certain weekdays and Sundays, so you may need to keep that in mind when visiting from out of town.

Omg the pretzels are something I could buy at a grocery store and make myself and I got a simple burger and fries the fries were just awful it was like they were baked and left out for an hr and then reheated the burger wasn't bad but it wasn't worth 12$

Jacob Wirth is a landmark German restaurant in Boston, with plenty of space for large groups, many German beers on draught, and a convenient downtown location. The space can get noisy very quickly, but no more than your average German "bier hall." The food is authentic, if not unoriginal, and a hearty enough to hold up to the big German beers. Try all the wurst. Take home the leftovers.

For $40 you get: Disappointingly average lukewarm knockwurst and bratwurst. Watery sauerkraut, ambiguous potatoes, and your choice of exactly one cheap american mustard in a grimy bottle. Good beer selection. Good cornbread. Decent apple strudel. Dilapidated decor. Over priced. Nothing German left of this place. Needs overhaul.

Piano bar? The sound system they use for that poor guy (excellent musician and entertainer) was the same one they use to say "So-and-so part of whatever, your table is ready." Which sounds awful. And is not nearly loud enough. Seriously, upgrade the sound. You can't really call it a music place if you have one microphone to share.

Such a fun spot! Hidden right off Washington, near Chinatown is a killer German restaurant and beer hall... who knew! The spaetzle was incredible and you could spend all night trying some of the really great beers they have on tap.

Great german beer bar right downtown. This is a staple of Boston and most people have been here. Wide selection of beer and also turns into a piano bar some nights. Great spot in the theater district before a show
