On DC Metro Theater Arts I review Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company's production of MacArthur and Obie Award winning playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' "Gloria".

The first act is a workplace situation comedy with witty banter. The second act is a dark satire of industrialized storytelling.

If you knew me as a teenager, you probably knew that I was an avid reader of the Washington City Paper.

Now, less than six months back in town, I've made my first outing as a contributor to its pages, reviewing +Pointless Theatre Co.'s adaptation of Federico Garcia Lorca's Don Cristóbal currently running at Dance Loft on 14.

On DC Metro Theater Arts, I review "The Truth*" a show created by the Oregonian clown troupe A Muse Zoo currently at Blind Whino as part of the Capital Fringe.

Don't despair if you can't make it to DC though -- they are touring this show across the US and Canada.

On DC Metro Theater Arts, I review playwright/director Matthew Marcus' Roko's Basilisk currently running at part of the Capital Fringe.

It's a fascinating play about artificial intelligence, human agency, the nature of reality, utopia and desire.

On DC Metro Theater Arts I review the world premiere of Lindsay Joelle's "Trayf" a comedy set in Brooklyn's Lubavitcher community. Currently running at Theater J, Derek Goldman directs.

Back in 2016, when I was still in the Boston area, I had caught a staged reading of a scene from an earlier draft presented by the Jewish Plays Project and Jewish Arts Collaborative and had hoped to someday experience how the story would develop.
