Just like the “Pantone” Air Jordan 7 released this past weekend, the Air Jordan 13 History of Flight from the Air Jordan History of Flight Collection officially set to release in July 2017.

This marks the first time Jordan Brand is releasing an Air Jordan Retro from their HOF Collection. The Chicago-inspired flavor is mostly styled in white, complemented by red along the lining and outsole, metallic silver Jumpman branding and a set of white laces.

The entire History of Flight Collection was unveiled back in 2009 with each original signature Air Jordan model celebrating the line’s 25th anniversary on display at different Nike retail locations for the World Basketball Festival in Chicago. The collection drew massive crowds from around the world, but was never actually released at retail.

AIR JORDAN XII PLAYOFFS has Nike on red alert, as it was the first sneaker release to implement the Twitter RSVP system in preparation of the Saturday release.

It’s good to see that Nike has taken preventative measures – at least concerning its own retail spots. Campout or not, the Air Jordan XII ‘Playoffs’ is one of the best Air Jordan Retro releases of the year as it’s been a complete eight years since we were last given the opportunity to cop these from a retail spot.

Let the low-top reign continue. Jordan Brand has been giving us some of their most iconic retros in low cut form as of late, and this theme will continue well into 2017 with the Air Jordan 12 Low “Playoffs”, that classic combination of black and white atop the Air Jordan 12’s tumbled leather that’s sure to be a huge hit for next summer.

This is the first detailed look at the Jordan 12 Low Playoffs’ actual existence and you can see the classic Jumpman branding on the heel, touches of Gym Red on the tongue branding and ’23’ PE heel while a clean white hits the mudguard for a high-contrast aesthetic. Jordan Brand manages to keep all the premium facets intact despite cutting this Jordan 12 in half, with metal lace eyelets returning and the ‘Two-3’ text on the tongue standing out in white.

Jordan Brand loves paying tribute to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina, with shoutouts to the school in the form of University Blue accents on a number of Jordan retros in years past. Now the Air Jordan 11 Low UNC is finally returning in retro this summer.

The summertime is always when the Air Jordan 11 Low thrives, and the Air Jordan 11 Low UNC returned at the perfect time, over 16 years after the patent leather gem featuring Columbia Blue debuted at retailers in 2001.

A little bit has changed since the original, as an updated blue tint can be expected to hit the icy outsole unit to match the UNC shade on the mudguard. Of course, the rendition came with a slight alteration in the particular shade of blue, as the original “Columbia Blue” is now known as “University Blue”.

Summertime is always the season of the Air Jordan 11 Low, as Jordan Brand brings the patent leather low-top back in a number of new and old inspirations alike. The last time that we saw the Air Jordan 11 Low “Barons”, we previewed the grade school size run of the baseball-inspired colorway, but today we finally have a look at the adult size.

This new colorway of the Air Jordan 11 Low has been dubbed "Barons" by sneakerheads due to a palette resembling the scheme of Michael Jordan's old baseball team. The tuxedo-ready make-up pairs black patent leather and nubuck together on the upper, accented by white and metallic silver branding hits. Below sits a white midsole and clear translucent rubber outsole.

Michael Jordan’s first retirement came as a shock to many, especially when the greatest basketball player alive decided to ditch the hardwood for the baseball diamond. Mike signed a deal with the Chicago White Sox minor league affiliated Birmingham Barons, as the Sox muted white and black pinstripes were translated to the Double-A club. While there’s no pinstripes on this retro like in past Barons-referencing pairs, the black upper skips out on the Cordura mesh for a sturdier nubuck upper. The iridescent-like sheen found on the mudguard is similar to the Air Jordan 11 “72-10” but with the added benefit of Metallic Silver throughout.

Similar to a PE that Jordan Brand athlete Chris Paul had been spotted in in years past, the Air Jordan 11 “Gym Red”, NIKE AIR JORDAN RETRO 11 “GYM RED” features an all-Red upper built with mesh and patent leather mudguards. Black detailing covers the inner liner, branding and heel, while sitting top a White midsole and translucent outsole.

You will also noticed that the patent leather is higher just like the original release.

AIR JORDAN 11 GAMMA BLUE NIKE is in black, gamma blue, and varsity maize. The sneakers are rumored to be connected to an over-arching “Laney” story line to coincide with the return of that Air Jordan V style, but for what it’s worth the blue hue used on these doesn’t quite match up with that retro.

If you’re remotely involved with the sneaker game you’re all too familiar with Jordan 11 holiday madness. Every year towards the end of December Jordan Brand decides to let loose an Air Jordan XI colorway, which subsequently causes consumers by the thousands to do all sorts of dire things to track them down.

Jordan Brand’s marketing for its retro releases seem like it consists of the shoe silhouettes themselves and Michael Jordan’s career. Jordan Brand don’t do those things because they don’t need to. The hype machine feeds itself; all kids need is a grainy picture on Instagram and a speculative drop date to get exhilarated by a potential bring-back.
